Man is considered essentially good and, therefore, one who loses ones original purity is called corrupt. Deterrent punishment can, at best, mitigate it's occurrence and can't erase it. Democracies, it's true, sometimes contribute to it's growth but usually the transparency that goes with a democratic set up acts as a check. Closed systems tend to abound with it.

A corrupt person, you mean (in English, the adjective cannot stand alone).
Enough with the English lesson.
I believe nothing will erase corruption, but deterrent punishment will help reduce its manifestations.
I believe there is much more corruption where there is no democracy. Because when people cannot choose the regime under which they live, they think: "Who cares?" and do whatever they can get away with to get what they want.
In a responsible democratic government, while there is still corruption due to human nature, there is much less incentive for corruption, and more likelihood of having to answer for your corruption.

Good. I respect your feeling . If even fifty percent in our society has this feeling , we can root out corruption.
Corruption is extreme selfishness which is breeded in an insensitive society. They take the advantages of a coward and docile administration. Corrupt people are everywhere , but where the law is strict and delivers immediate punishment , there these pests and parasites do not dare to breed.
In all of these third world countries and specially the warm countries , these virus of corruption is widespread . So this is a disease to be be wiped out through an all round approach.

The corrupt that I encountered was a govt. official, getting govt./public salary to issue licence/approval for which he was charging a fixed bribe.
Detterent punishment may be able to erase corruption, but these people are so smart that the innocent is punished and they go scot free.
Maybe democracy added to its growth by offering it peaceful and happy atmosphere to prosper and grow.
The best action would be to educate these people to be satisfied with their salaries, and not to expect more, as greediness has no end.
A strong surveillance system to detect and stamp out corruption at the root. Punishment should be swift and harsh.

there is no way out to curb the corruption. it's a age old problem and continued from the inception of the civilisation on the planet. no deterrent punishment nor the religious advices can cure/solve ur sentimental problem/worries.

i can understand your loathing. a corrupted character takes advantage of the naive and stupid, takes personal advantage of positions of power ... be it a politician at the lobbyist trough or a pedophile teacher. the corrupt don't mind hurting others to gain an advantage and they lie to themselves and everyone that what they do is normal. i don't know that there's any way to eradicate corruption but you can learn the recognize the signs of rot and protect yourself against it.
as long as there's a status based hierarchical social system there will be corruption regardless of what form the government takes.

What is not permitted by "Customs,Traditions,Rules of The institution 'of which one is amember - be it a Family or else Religion Comunity Nation or any institution', Organisation 'Work Politics Sports etc.' and are being done by anyone, he is "currupt".
It is said one should keep distance from currupt, so that he corrects himself because man is a social animal and can't live alone ( You might be remembering that in olden days and today also in most rural areas, in communities and villages, discording a person for his currupt deeds had been / is a rule to punish for deterance not to do / repeat the act). But today what to say most of the particles of human society are currupt and in such condition who can distance from whome? Water is life "JAL HI JEEVAN HAI", if water available in complete is currupt what would be the state of life? Today same is a situation on our Earth.
If prostitution is a practice of some human being for thier livelyhood they may not look to be a currupt but in case the symptems of prostitution become the way of living in society, in my opipenion it is curruption and let me tell that today in most of the familes / society / schools - colleges symptems of curruption is abated.
Taking bribe is curruption but if un employed pepole are allowed to promote the public work, in Govt. / public offices, on some renumeration for thier livelyhood, and when it becomes thier trade, as they don' get other job, what it is?
Curruption today has expanded its' root at very deep in human society from "birth to death" at every step and it is not so easy to erradict, it is ! if "The Kings" ( why I said kings because they have tought and by - hearted that king does no wrong and all heads treat themself a king) the head of institutons desires and remove curruption from his act.
I 100% respect your sentiments, yet we must dig the root an d in society what I feel the root is at and not at middle or at bottom and therefore each member of each institutio are to collectively make sure to remove curruption from thier society.
