or consult an online dictionary when they post questions here? What about spell check? And the grammar? I just read a post where the girl used the word 'da' for 'the' twice and she couldn't correctly conjugate a verb if you held a gun to her head. Everyone makes mistakes, but honestly, some questions aren't readable, much less understandable.

Are people still going to school? What are they teaching instead of English?

Yes I'm aware of Internet slang. And it's very inappropriate in a public forum where others may not understand.

Could someone please tell me what 'making does stupid questions mean?' I hate it when people are too stupid to talk down to me.

No, I don't feel attacked. However, if we're going to communicate, then why not be a little considerate? Besides, if one has a question, how can we answer if we don't understand?

school systems do not teach "da" instead of "the." of course i would love to see perfect grammar, but i know its wishful thinking. i am a teacher and yes, i don't capitalize the beginning of my sentences here, or write "I." i speak and write properly all day; while i am on my free time, i like to relax. yahoo answers is not a very structured environment; it is not a scholarly journal. it is a relaxed setting and many times, people don't want to go into big elaborate things. no one is being judged for receiving extra points for their typing skills, grammar, language, etc. i don't see it as a big deal as long as students know the difference between talking on the computer and their research papers. i have received emails from my students that were written in this "computer slang" and i was ok with it, i understand. i hope you don't think i am attacking you, but i hope you can understand where i am coming from.

you bring up a good point. thats true, it is hard to read. i often need to read things over and over to try and find context clues and such.

I am still going to school. LOL. Some people are just challenged and if they have a disorder then it isn't their fault.

'Making does stupid questions' means 'making those stupid questions'.

My daughter's friend actually says "L.O.L" instead of "that's funny", etc.... so annoying.
