here is the best I can come up with without knowing your federal withholding rates and whether or not the state of Missouri has an income tax to withhold for.

14 hours @ $7.00 per hour = 98.00 gross

Social Security @ 6.2% (98.00 * .062) = 6.08

Medicare @ 1.45% (98.00 *.062) = $1.43

Just taking thos two things out of your check you're at $90.49

I'm betting there is some federal withholding taken out based on your W-4 so $88.00 is about right. I hope this helps.

With your check, you should always be given some sort of pay stub or statement showing your gross pay for that pay period, and what deductions were made. Ask the owner for this. If he won't give it to you, he's most likely paying you illegally - look for another job before you end up in trouble right along with him. Sounds like he took out about the right amount, but if he isn't sending it in, then you wouldn't get credit for it, and wouldn't have any proof of the deductions.

14 hours at $7 an hour is $98 so he is probably right. If anything he did not take enough out because there is FICA, Federal Tax, state and local tax.

There should be a check stub showing the total pay and what taxes were withheld. On $105 about $8 should be withheld for social security/medicare alone.

If you don't have a check stub, you are not being paid properly.

Check you deduction stub. Normal deductions are social security, medicare/medicaid, income tax withholding and any state and local taxes (don't know much about MO. taxes).

Try using www.paycheckcity.com. You can enter your hourly rate, fed & mo w-4 info and STL 1% tax rate and it will calculate your paycheck.
