Reason for getting a dog?
Who is the dog for
Size
Temperament
Where will you keep it
Vet cost
Where will it sleep
Are there small children to consider
How long will it be left alone during the day
Who will be responsible for care and exercise
Is there a fenced yard, with water and shelter
Who is going to be responsible for training/discipline
Don't ever over look socialization..
Answering some questions will eliminate some breeds.
Life is not erasable, pick a pet with your mind, it will
ultimately be what you make of it.
Love it with all your heart.

A mixed-breed dog (mutt), adopted from your local animal shelter, is the best pooch you could ever have, for lots of reasons! Mutts don't have all the genetic defects that purebred dogs have, like bad hearts, deformed internal organs, and weak skeletons. Mutts are healthier, longer-lived, smarter, happier, more loving, better-adjusted, cheaper, and less aggressive than purebreds. Plus, if you adopt a mutt from a shelter, you are probably saving the dog's life, since most shelters have to kill the dogs if they can't find anyone to adopt them. A pooch is a family member, so don't "buy" a dog--adopt one!
Good question!

Depending on your lifestyle, I personally love active happy dogs. I have a boxer they are great for the family and for singles. They will keep you laughing all the time. Always look into a dogs health. Boxers are high on the list for dying from cancer among other ailments. Bulldogs vet bills are high due to the many problems they suffer from. A good old mutt isn't bad. But most of all I would consider your lifestyle and finances first.

Personally, my favorite breed is the boxer. They are extremely loving, loyal, obediant and easy to train. They are great with children and are wonderful guard dogs.
You should check out the link below for more information about the breed of boxers..
You also may want to go to animal shelters and try and find a dog there that you connect with - if you go thru the humane society or SPCA they should have detailed information about the particular breed so you can make the right decision on which breed works for you and your life style.

Any dog from a rescue or shelter!
Find one in your area by searching Petfinder.com. The volunteers will help you match the right dog to your lifestyle.
Almost any breed is the "right" dog for someone, but without knowing more about you, there's no way to tell you.
The volunteers will know the dogs in their rescue or shelter, they will help with the right age, sex, size, breed etc. I am partial to labs. However, they aren't for everyone. Also, each dog is different so you want to meet them and find the right one!
Good luck.

Well this pretty much depends on what you want. If you want a smaller dog a westie or Yorkie are good choices. If you want a medium sized dog i HIGHLY suggest a Golden Retriever! They rarley bite, are very friendly, and pretty to! They are also loyal. In my opinion I say a golden Retriever.
