There was a question posted on here earlier today. Someone was asking if you could sponser at least 10.00 for...don't remember what. I replied: Can you sponser me 370.00 for my power bill? Get a job! Now I'm not really asking for money, was just be sarcastic. Anyway I got an email saying I voilated something or other and my answer was deleted. Tell me, do you think my reply was wrong?

I am a bit of a smart ***, a little bit sarcastic and frankly very blunt. It is who I am. I have to work for everything I have. I feel others should also, instead of begging money from people they don't even know.

I don't think your reply was wrong. I would've said the same thing. I'm so sick and tired of people asking for money when they're more than capable of going out and working for themselves! Would they like to sponser my $15,000 school fund?! I don't think so! So why should I fork out money for something like that when I'm struggling myself?

Your humorous reply was not wrong. There are a lot of "gods" and judgemental people in Yahoo/Answer who are very quick to click the abuse button just because. Perhaps it makes them feel so powerful to pass judgement without first looking into it. I had a question that was removed/deleted with no reason why. All I was asking was "Who here is a "loyal-bushie"?"

How can we tell if you don't remember what it was the person wanted the money for. If it was 'sponser me 10.00 for doing something for a charity' then yes you were wrong. If it was basically 'Give me a tenner for nothing' then you were right. You should but it in context for people to give you an answer.

Sometimes you will be reported for answering like this because as you wrote, you were being sarcastic. I have done the same thing though, but that is the consequences for being rude for telling the truth.lol

Yahoo does not read the reported violations, they just delete if ANYONE reports you for abuse.
You can "appeal" it, but nothing ever comes from that.
Your response was not inappropriate, just funny & sarcastic. Apparently the beggar not only was broke, he is very thinned skinned, probably why he doesn't have a job....lol

Yeah, I had something similar like that happen a long time ago.
I would email them back and ask them what you violated? If the person who read it was awake they should have recognized that you were being sarcastic.

No not in the least. I got a violation email a few days back from Yahoo simply for answering "ugh" to someone's question. I wrote back and told them they were pretty lame.

This is a weird question. But it is a question nevertheless. No I wouldn't have reported you. And yes, that was pretty rude of someone to ask for money on yahoo answers.

The answer you described seems to be reasonable.
Sometimes we must be careful not only what we say but also how we say it, or we may draw the unwanted attention of the ignorant and powerful.
