My ex is in prision and we have been broken up for 7 years, he has been there for a year now. I have been happily married for 5 years to my husband, but this weekend my ex sent me a letter saying he needs someone to talk to while hes in jail, that he needs my help. He hasnt sent me a letter since hes been there and just sends one out of the blue, what should I do, I still care for him but not in love with him.

if u were smart, and i think u are, u need to distance yourself from this man, your happily married now, its all different for u now, your happy, u have a life, couldn't have been all that good with the ex, don't chance upsetting your life for him, u did not put him in prison. just don't even go there, not worth it really. be happy with who u got, what could u really do for him anyway? he most likely has found himself let down and abandoned by all, so don't get involved with him.

First does your husband know? You should tell him you got that letter so it doesn't seem like your hiding anything. Strike up the conversation, if he sees no problem in it and you want to then go for it, however your husbands feelings and needs come first so if he is uncomfortable in anyway with it, burn the letter and live life with your husband. The ex is your ex for a reason.

Tell your ex that you just want to be his friend and that you no longer are in love with him. Tell him that it is just a friendly basis and you don't want him to send you these letters all the time. If he doesn't understand, then don't write back. Hope this works.

In my opinion, you would be better off not talking to your ex. It could cause tension with your current husband and your ex may get the idea that you are still interested in him. If you want to stay in contact with your ex, I would limit it to letters and make sure your husband is aware of it before you start.

Still care for him but not in love with him? Here is what's going to happen if you do go in prison to see him...

He is going to express feeling for you
In the beginning you will say no
Then you will melt for him
Obviously you also want dick outside of your hubby's regular dick
Sonner than you know, it will turn into married affair.

You're married for heaven sakes, get real. The guy is in prison because he's a con (no pun intended).
If he is serious, have him tell his guards he wants help, prisons do have professional who work with prisoners.
Just stay away from him, he is thinking only of himself not you.

Don't do it. It will destroy you husbands peace of mind. If he needs someone to talk to he can talk to the chaplain or a counselor.
