Jalapenos, anaheims, pasilla, serranos or yellow chilis? Thank you.

If you don't want the recipe to be too hot...don't use serranos, don't use piquin. Pasilla chillis are the closest in taste...they are like the previous user says dried up poblano peppers.
Jalapeños are always a milder alternative...but beware, they are still hot.

Pequin and ancho are not similar. Pequin are tiny and quite hot, ancho are dried poblano and mild. Of the ones you listed, pasilla is closest to ancho. Serranos are the hottest you listed, so they're the closest to pequin, though not as hot.
