I am 12 years old, and I am muslim. Do not worry, I'm no extremist and neither are my parents, sometimes I even read other bibles to learn about other religions. LOl, I come in peace. But lately some people are giving me the feeling that I am weird because I am a religious person. Are they right? I don't know, but some people are being weird about it and telling me that I am too young to be engaged in "such matter."
Me = confused. Confusion = BADDD. Bad = help?

Follow your heart and dreams and you'll get there.

Thank you!

No guys, my parents didn't force me. My father is Egyptian and he isn't extremely religious, I mean he only prays once in a while because of his business. And my mother is Polish but WANTED to switch to Islam because she thought it was facinating. Now my parents sent me to Arabic school to learn the language and little did they know, you also learn religiously. I thought it was amazing so therefore I slowly am trying to engage in the proper Islamic ways. (:

P.S. I am also a typical American kid, so I am living two lives(: I enjoy it.

Yes, I started fasting and I'm talking to my principal at Arabic school and going to ask him to help me memorize the Surahs you need to know in order to pray.

No, see if you read the Qu'Ran says that in the end all religions are for one same purpose: to worship God. It's not to have war, its about peace. Some of the Muslim extremists are acting so stupidly and telling others that violence is the answer. As I always say, every religion has some bad people, but every religion has many great people who are true to themselves and their God. (:

you sound wonderful. thats great that you are willing to read and learn outside of your religion. since you're 12 so i will let you in on a secret you learn as you get older. its a life lesson that everyone should know....

“Be Who You Are And Say What You Feel Because Those Who Mind Don't Matter And Those Who Matter Don't Mind.”
-Dr Seuss

so you keep doing what you think is best for you. don't let people confuse you especially when you seem to know what you want out of life. often times, people put others down because they are confused and unsure and are jealous because others are not questioning like them. best of luck with everything!

Well, I think that a young person’s ideas and values are just as viable as an adult’s ideas and values. No, you are not weird, however I do believe that it would be sad if you we stubborn and set in your ways at such a young age. I was a religious child and I don’t regret that for a second because it was who I was (and in many ways still am), but I was not afraid to explore other ideas. No subject is worth closing you mind on, not event the subject of god.

Right now, I say you should be proud of who you are (and don't let people proselytize you).

Of course you already have an open mind and there is nothing wrong with that. You are surely not to young to be engaged in such a matter.

I am quite sure that you will stay with your Muslim beliefs and that is a good thing. As a Christian I think your understanding of other religions is a good thing to. And you will find that there is much more that brings us together then drives us apart.

Peace to you and good luck

Sarah, I know you are a muslim. I am a Christian. I was raised by Christian grandparents and they lead me to the Lord when I was 9 years old. I grew up without a father and when the Lord came into my life I could feel His Presence with me. I had such peace as a child and it did not feel like I never had a father at all. The evidence of God being in my life at a young at help me get to where the Lord eventually wanted me to be. I strayed from God when I was 18 and began to hangs out with people who dealt drugs. It was then the Lord spoke to me told me these people were not my friends. So, I ended up departing from them. But my experience in being in God at a young age was so vital. It helped me forgive my father when I met him later in life. It helped set the stage for my future. Alot of people do not have the same opportunities because they do not have Christ in their life at a young age. So, I just want to say be encouraged because some people will act that way towards you because they have nothing to hope for or believe in. Remember God chose King Josiah in the Old Testament at the age of 8 years old. God bless you.

I know you do not believe the same as me, seeing as I am a Christian, but in the Bible there is a verse that might help you. It's found in 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 12.

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity"

I'm 18 and I get the same thing. Just stand firm, and don't let the rest of the world try to take you from what you believe. <><

I've been scared of Muslims ever since I found out killing Christians and other religions was almost next to required. I don't know why Muslims worship a god of hate. I'm a Christian because I'd rather have a god that gave his own son for me than a god that wants us to give our son to him. But you are not too religious...I'm thirteen...I have read the whole Bible and I even read parts of the Koran (which I don't agree with) and I have to read a devotion before bed. I love God! He is so good to me! I respect your religion though even though I wish you can be a follower of the one true God.

Why would it be bad to believe in God as a kid? Hello? I think the people who told you that were mostly atheists, because it's not like you can only decide what you believe in at 18. They jus tdon't agree with religion, and they feel you're being ''brainwashed'' by your parents. I'm 13, and I believe in God. Why would this be a bad thing?

Keep reading, study history, study faiths, and Learn. That is the whole point of religion anyway (knowledge). You are not to young to be engaged in any matter, just keep doing what your doing and who knows you may learn that it is better to not blame all of your good tidings on a supreme being and take a bit of credit for yourself ;)

No, it's only wrong to be so religious that you block out all other evidence and beliefs of things besides the ones that the 'word' of your god says are true. And if someone forces that religion onto young people.

You don't say if it's other 12 year olds, but I smell peer pressure. Stick to your guns. If the teaching of Muhammed (Peace be upon him) helps you in your life, and brings you a closer relationship with Allah, there is nothing wrong with that. Don't let them rattle you, just be who you are, and if who you are happens to be a spiritual and religious person, then be one. Maybe they are a little rattled, and wonder if they are as "good " as you or something....no need to be confused about it..
I've just been reading your additional details, there is nothing wrong with learning about it, in order to learn more about your heritage, and help you to feel closer to your roots. Even if you don't practice it like that later in your life, it would be good to understand your heritage, and feel that you have a spiritual foundation to build on.
