my and my ex-girlfriend are still very good friends. she now likes another one of our friends, but thats where the problem lies. i am still in love with her. does anyone have any advice to help me get over her, or even to just lessen the pain?

That's just it, you can't get over the pain, you won't, you aren't human if you get over it just that fast and that would only mean that you didn't have strong feelings for her in the first place. You obviously do so you have to deal with the pain. Not saying DEAL with it, but the pain will go away soon. Just find something that you like to do or something to help keep your mind off of it. I guess it's kind of hard to do that when you guys are still friends but you will find someone else who is better, just wait.

Does she know how you feel? You know, if you still care about her, you need to tell her. It is the right thing to do. Even if it doesn't get you what you want, you need to be honest.
If she does not feel the same way, then, you need to move on with your life. If you do decide to tell her, don't expect her to know right then and there how she feels...give her some time.
She might still have resentments about what went wrong in your relationship and may need to move past that to get to her own feelings. Hope things work out for you.

Only time and distance can lessen the pain. I know it's a cliche - "Time heals all wounds" - but it is true. But you need to get away from her. Cut all ties, remove her from your life. Start dating as many different women as you can, too. That will help you forget.

Not hanging out with your ex makes you a jerk. If you really are still in love with your ex, explain how you feel, and maybe the both of you will be willing to give it another shot. If you can't deal with rejection, explain to her that it's going to be hard to see her flirting with another one of your friends. Tell her that you need to give yourslelf time and space. Remember man, one door closes, and another opens.

...drag yourself away from her for awhile here dude. You are allowed to grieve and heal in your own time my friend honestly. It isn't up to her or you to be out fixing or repairing the relationship. Besides...she's out with one of your exemplary best friends otherwise. Now what does all of that crap tell ya reasonably? I might find some better friends really!

all of you are friends well its had to get over someone while still talking to them and hanging out with them so just stop hanging out with her stop talking to her. even though ur gf is friends with her doesnt mean u have to be besides being away from her will help to get over her and one more thing i think you should talk to your ex and see if she feels the same way about you as you feel about her and if she is over you than stop hanging out with her

either win her back (if you really love her) or just wait for someone else to come along. trust me, it will happen. If you choose the second option, maybe take a vacation or try something new where you would meet new people
