It doesn't say that in the Bible.
And we are still living in the seventh day.

Can we knock a myths or two on the head?
The date 4004BC was never part of the bible text.
Many Christians (to include the official position of the Roman Catholic church) do not hold to a "young earth".
There are several different "old earth" positions:
Accepting guided evolution,
a second recent creation of life and mankind on an old "empty", "void" earth, (Genesis 1:2)
and considering the "days" as periods or eras rather than literal days.
Archbishop Ussher did not arrive at his 4004 bc simply by "adding up ages in the bible"
Stephen Jay Gould has a superb article on this, available on-line. (Yes, from a Darwinian!)
The problem with "God could have made it look older" (And it's ancient related question, "Did Adam have a navel?") is that it gets close to making God a liar, or at least an illusionist.
Similar ideas of "stage setting" have been applied to fossils and the light seemingly from distant stars, under this approach.
Me, I think the earth is billions of years old, and mankind hundreds of thousands of years, or more depending on your definition of humanity.

It doesn't, it the answer given by those who try to disprove the Bible as a source of truth, because they have nothing better to place out there. God created it when he created it, nothing else is said on when or even how. Only story which it stated God created with his own two hands are man and woman, the Garden of Eden and that which surrounded Adam and Eve.
It doesn't even say how long a day was, since He made it it could have been much longer than we know, but it is actually a figurative writting in which it's design by those who read and understand the Bible, is to tell the story of Gods great love for us that he created it all, everything for us. That is in the Bible.
Thanks for the opportunity to spread the truth, God bless you always.

God indeed is the 'Ancient of Days' and He did make the Universe and the earth much older as hinted to in Genesis 1:1 Billions of years older!!! If you find out where it states that God created the original heavens and earth just 6,000 years ago, let me know and we'll both know!
This estimate of the age of the earth is based erroneously on the dating technique of Bishop Usshur, who used the ages of the ancient patriarchs listed in the tenth chapter of Genesis in an attempt to date the age of the earth!
You obviously haven't read the Genesis creation account, at least very well, for nowhere does it mention dragons and giant dinosaurs in either chapter 1,2 or 3!!
The seven days of creation mentioned there in the Genesis account of creation are literal 24 days! Based on the usage of the Hebrew word 'yown' pronounced yome, which means a literal 24 day . . .the evening and morning . . one day!
If you take the time to study Genesis One and Two in detail, you will discover as I have that it is actually an account of a 'recreation' from the fall of Lucifer, a 'restoration' of God's creation and not the origin creation of the heavens and the earth, save for verse one of Genesis 1. We have no real idea when Lucifer's rebellion took place, but it much have been many millennia before the creation of Adam and Eve, as hinted to in Job 38, Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28.
Look closely at the creation of the plants, they are all angiosperms, or seed-bearing plants, and not spore producing gymnosperms like mosses, and lichens!!! Modern life is being created here, of the Pliocene to Pleistocene Epochs! The time which mankind first makes his appearance in the fossil record!!!
No dinosaurs here, but there is mention of cattle and hints to other modern plants and animals.
Remember, the Bible concerns itself with the entrance of mankind, and it is NOT a history book of the creation of the earth, and how life got started on it, like some prehistoric life - biology book!

This was a man-made tradition.
Daniel, and the Gospel tell you that the earth is about 7 billion years old.
False Christ is listed 3 times in Matthew. There are 3 woes, and 3 watches. They go with A Time, Times and Half Time.

the geneology from Adam to Noah to Abraham to David to Jesus. Counting the generations along with their ages provided in Genesis 5 (where the gospel is hidden in the name meanings), you can give an estimate that isn't precisely accurate but makes it safe to say that earth is nowhere near a million years old.
But I agree what with God, "a day is as a 1,000 years"

Obviously it cannot say that and still be inerrant, since such a statement is categorically false. It is not the Bible, but unauthorized, unauthoritative personal interpretations of the bible that yield such nonsense. Which is no doubt why the Bible itself states that Scripture is not a matter of personal interpretation.

The Geneology (the births of the people and their fathers) of the Bible leads us to around 6-10 thousand years old, and if u believe the Bible then macro evolution isn't real, because evolution says death brought man into the world, the Bible says man brought death into the world....

Apparantly, some guy counted backwards from Jesus...there's a lot of places in the Bible where it says, "So and so lived to be such and such age". That's how they came up with 6000 years.
