I am trying to make a strawberry smoothie with fresh strawberries but it does not taste that great! should I freeze them first? Just buy frozen one's? I just made it with non-fat milk and strawberries but it was not that good! Anyone have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

Freezing will help, but I'm afraid what you're really missing is sugar. Store bought strawberries aren't very sweet. Growers opt for longer shelf life and berries able to withstand shipping and those that look big and pretty rather than the really yummy ones. So short of growing your own, add a little sweetner-I use Equal so no calories are added. Honey is good, too if you want a more organic bend. A banana which tastes sweeter might help, too.

If you didn't add any sugar, it probably was too tart.

I recommend adding frozen, non-fat vanilla or strawberry yogurt & a bit of sugar.

You could also use frozen, sliced, ripe bananas instead of frozen yogurt to add body and adjust the amount of sugar.
