I was on Lexapro for anxiety and it wasn't working too well so my doc put me on Zoloft. I just assumed I was supposed to quit taking the Lexapro when I started the Zoloft. I have been w/out the Lexapro for about a month now and suddenly I am dizzy all the time. I just get these waves of dizziness, it's not constant, kind of like a "tick" of dizziness, it;s real quick-does that make sense? This is really hard to explain to my doctor-so has anyone else had this that can tell me if it's just my body coming off the Lexapro? The zoloft is a stronger dosage, so I just don't understand!

OMG, you poor thing. I know exactly what you are going through. I was on Zoloft for over 5 years and I came off of it. It was HELL! Yes, it is your body coming off the medicine. It takes quite a while to make the adjustment. I am amazed that your doctor didn't talk to you at length about weaning off it instead of stopping immediately. It took me over 6 months to wean off the Zoloft and I was still miserable. I recommend calling or going in to see your doctor and talk to him about this. He should be able to give you some advice, or maybe even something to hekp with the dizziness. In the meantime, be very careful driving. I got what are often called "brain zaps" while I was coming off the Zoloft. I would be sitting totally still and all of a sudden my whole body would just jump or jerk. It was as if a jolt of electricity had shot through me. There were alot of other bad side effects too. Now I am totally off all SSRI's. I take Xanax as needed. SSRI'S never really seem to help me much at all. I have chronic anxiety also. Good luck to you.

i have taken many antidepressant/anxiety pills. zoloft had to of been the worst one for me. that actually made me severly depressed worse then i already was, paxil was no better. i've also taken lexapro. your doctor should of told you if you should of just stopped taking the lexapro and just started the zoloft. when i would switch pills they would just have me stop the 1 pill and start the other. i know what you mean by the type of dizzyness you are feeling but i get those once in awhile but i do not know the reason for it, i don't think it has anything to do with your pills but you should ask your doctor. also i really don't suggest zoloft from my personal experience as well as a few other people i know who took it. i'd ask your doctor about effexor(which has been the best for me) or welbutrin..but not zoloft

My husband did noy respond to Lexapro. Dr put him on Zoloft. He got dizzy too. Just out of the blue. He found that changing the tim eof day he took the pill helped. Late at night was the best. Just before bed.

I doubt if it's been a month that it would be the Lexapro.
It's probably the Zoloft, I would talk to your Dr. if it continues.
