i think 3 is a good age to start playing sports with them and teach them anything you know about certain sports.

I don't think there are any sports programs out there that would take a child as young as 2 1/2. I know here that girls can take ballet or gymnastics starting at age 3. For the sports here, like soccer, basketball, t-ball, you have to be 4.

I believe my mother enrolled me in "tumbling" (gymnastics) around 3 or 4, and t-ball/soccer around pre-school age. I ended up staying in gymnastics/dance until my teen years and if I weren't pregnant I'd be on a co-ed softball team this summer!
So I would say at this moment 2 1/2 might be too young, but it's certainly not to early to be looking around for the right classes. Getting prices and all that.
I think it's excellent that you want to expose your daughter to everything, just remember that if she's not having fun it's a waste. Push her through a year or so and after that if she seems uninterested, wait until she's a little older and maybe try again.
Good luck! And what a lucky little girl!

oh get her in there early. a good idea is to have a variety of acitivites, a winter sport a summer sport and an artsy activity, this way you dont have to dedicate all your time driving around to soccer and t-ball in the summer and be stuck at home bored in the winter time.
You could try T-ball and then basketball come winter time

its always nice to have your daughter in something artsy as well, anything from drawing lessons to piano, to a small theatre club..you really want to help develop her creativety at an early age.

When it comes to enrolling her i would contact the closest rec center to your house, for sure they would have a few classes you could look into.
Good luck

In my area kids have to be 4 by Sept 1 to play soccer, but for everything else they have to be 5. My daughter is in gymnastics and the youngest kid in there is 4. Three is good for gymnastics, the earlier they start, the more limber they are and the more their body will remember the movements.

My son is 3 and has started his first year of t-ball. It is developmental so there is no real competition. They mostly just play around with the other kids, but he stays home with me and it gives him a chance to socialize. We had to go to the local chamber of commerce to sign up for it, but check out the local fitness centers and daycare centers, sometimes there are postings for other activities.

Start her as early as you can. Only enter her in one thing at a time and write down what she says about each one that way...when she wants to be more competive about it you can help her decide. Making her competive at an early age will make her goals for life better.
