Go to bed earlier, and set the alarm across the room. Sprinkle children's toys all over the floor. Guaranteed to wake you up as soon as you step on them

I'm not sure why you sleep through them....
But I suggest getting an alarm clock where it wont stop ringing until you turn it off. Then set it really really loudly and put on the other side of the room. See because then you have to get up out of your bed to turn it off and then usually you are awake enough that you cant go back to sleep...
Oh Oh!!! Or you can get multiple alarm clocks (when I say multiple I mean like 20 different alarms...) and do the same thing as above... And then they all ring at the same time really loudly and then you wouldnt be able to go back to sleep.

1. Use a clock radio. Our brains can get used to the repetitive beep beep beep sound and it can almost become like background noise, or even blend into your dreams! (I used to dream that it was the phone ringing all the time!) But waking up to the different sounds of songs and noises on a radio station will change it up so you wont become immune to the repetitive sound. Also, make sure the clock is away from your bed so that you have to get up to shut it off.
2. make sure its not too hot. Cooler air is better for waking up rested and not sluggish
3. If possible, sleep with your shades slightly open so that light comes in in the morning...light is a trigger to the body to wake up.
4. Are you getting enough sleep? If youre not getting an avg of 6-8, youre prob exhausted!
Hope this helps!

Well maybe your a deep sleeper, and when you go to the living room your sleep walking. Try turning your alarm as loud as you can, or you could get a radio alarm clock and turn it up really loud, then you'll wake up.

Try setting an alarm clock that runs on batteries or whined up far away from your bed and if you have to get up to turn it off you will not go back to sleep.

You are clearly having disturbed sleep. Sleep problems affect a large # of americans. Do you have a spouse or significant other that you sleep with? Ask them if you snore very loudly or cease breathing during sleep. If so, you could suffer from sleep apnea, a condition that not only makes you tired but affects your memory, blood pressure, heart, and lungs. It is a life threatening condition if untreated. It is more common in people who are overweight.
I would see a doctor, because what you are describing is someone with sleep problems. Good luck!

It sounds like you are not getting enough sleep or you have a sleeping disorder. Go see your doctor and find out if there is a place in your area that specializes in sleep disorders, they usually want you to go to the place every night for a few days and they will watch you to see how you sleep. Sometimes they need to hook you up to some machines to check out your blood pressure and heart rate and brain activite when you are sleeping.

Try having someone wake up earlier than you and shake you awake for 2 weeks straight even on weekends...maybe you will develop an instinct that way.
