After walking about 15-20 minutes, my lower back starts to feel very sore and weak. It goes away if I sit down but then starts again when I walk. What's causing this and is there anything I can do to prevent it? Thanks!

I also get this. You have to strengthen your stomach muscles as they are compensating for your back.

Low back pain can be caused by several things. Perhaps it is your posture or something else. A chiropracter can realign your back, but perhaps it is your feet. Are you flat footed? That can affect your whole posture. Insoles for your shoes can help your posture and in turn your back. Also, if you have lifted something heavy recently you may have pulled a muscle. If neither of these things then possibly a more important problem like degenerative disc disorder where the discs are rubbing each other. The best advice would be to see a doctor and be honest about where the pain is and when it occurs.

Make sure you stretch your hamstrings. If your hamstrings are too tight they will pull your pelvis out of alignment and cause you pain when you walk. These simple stretches will make all the difference. I know because I used to suffer with a bad back. Do them ASAP

Could be the shoes you are wearing. The ones you have on might not be giving you the cushioning that your back needs. Also, if it IS sore, apply ice on it for the first 72 hours, not heat!

oh i am so with you on this one!

i've had a bad back for years. Don't know if this will help you but i'll tell you what helped me:

I built up my core muscles using one of those huge, rubber gym balls and following the DVD. You strengthen the muscles that help form a strong base for your skeleton to work with.

I also had proper massage to help the tense muscles relax.

These two things REALLY helped me and i'd recommend it to anyone.
Best of luck ;)

I think it's to do with incorrect posture, but I would go see a chiropractor to be sure, and have it corrected.
