The landlord said that i don't have any evidence that someone's watching me, so they can't let me do that, but the police said that 100% that the thief live in the same complex, and they were watching me. If i move-out, i'm scared that i can't rent a place to live anymore, i have pets, and i'm an international student. If i did go to court what might i do? Will i win the case? I need some really help, and fast. I felt scared every moment that I'm been home.

Well this is all I find in my lease contract
MOVE-OUT PROCEDURES
the move-out date can not be changed unless we and you both agree in writing. You won't move out before the lease contrac term or renewal period ends unless all rent for the entire lease contract ot renewal period is paid in full.

I moved in the apartment not so long, and now i have something that I've never expericened before, and it really is going to make me remember for the rest of my life. I just think that bad things will continue to happened, if i don't leave. The thief had got my keys, and if I change it, they will broken in again, or something is going on for the rest of my life if i live there. Is so uncomfortable to live in the same place that the thief is living with u, and knowing someone is watching u.

Greetings.
Your landlord cannot possibly have a case for $6000.
Did you have theft insurance? I have been robbed too. Somehow they knew the ONLY time my dog was out of the house at the vet's that day! Fortunately insurance helped somewhat.
WHY does your landlord claim you owe him so much money? Even if he is keeping your damage deposit or charging you for breaking a lease I cannot see where this comes from. Unless he is trying to hold you responsible for damages done by the thief. Did you do a "walk through" before moving in with him? In Canada that is law. You inspect and then sign a note agreeing about the condition of the apt just prior to moving in. Did you do that? This protects both parties.
I think you need to provide more details. Is there a rentalsman office or some place to go to for help? A legal aid office? I do not know what you have in America but I certainly do wish you good luck.
If you sense you are being watched, speak to the police about it. To be honest, however, if you feel you are threatened, just move out and let him chase you! Keep records of all that happens, including convos with him, so that when it comes to court, if he does take it that far, you have a record. I doubt he has a real case.

Dear Sir, if someone is breaking in your house and someone is totally watching you, and if this person (I am assuming it exists) is responsible for the "break-in" in your house and stalking you as well then you certainly have a "safety" problem, first and foremost. If I was you and felt that my life was in jeopardy and had to disappear to be safe then whatever happens with your lease will have to happen. If the manager is so money hungry that does not realize and sympathize with your difficult situation then he is also part of the problem. I would rather go bankrupt than loose my safety. A "break-in" is a form of violation and whoever acts in this fashion is certainly a serious enemy to be considered as such. Suck it up and move on is what I say! Forget about the legal ramifications and find yourself another space that is secure from prying eyes with evil intent. It is better to start anew than to remain stationary in what is no longer a safe habitat. If that greedy manager is not concerned that you are being targeted by a criminal mind then he is not to dictate or compromise your safety by a contract. What the hell, break the Frigging Contract and vanish in thin air, if you end up truly broke file for a chapter 7 but at least you will be away from danger. This is my take, do not be bullied by your present circumstances, it is survival of the fittest now and take your losses like a real man (that has no options is what I mean) and in your future actions consider privacy the best option, only the true and tried should remain close enough to know where and how you live your life. Trust no one unless absolutely necessary and last but not least, arm yourself and know how to efficiently use your weapon of choice so if anyone ever tries to endanger your life you can respond drastically in your favor. Don't think on giving that hungry landlord 6 grand, you would only feed a beast that can never be satisfied. By the way, your writing was quite choppy and there is a chance that because of it I overblown the whole matter and misunderstood your predicament. If that is the case, disregare the advice and certainly good luck for you!
PS If you really feel you are being watched try a little countersurveillance and try to single out the stalker a-la-james bond, it is not hard!
PS PS I just read your second statement in which you proclaim that you are an international student. Well My Good Man, it is time to pack it up and go to the MotherLand. Why are you being targeted, is it because of your origins? Did you cause the present situation by your own indirect or direct doing? Are you just an innocent student that has been drawn into such a dramatic turmoil? What really is going on? Obviously your pets must be considered. If on an emergency I would leave them at the doorstep of a kind of organization that protects and saves animals of all kinds (animal shelter, humane pets center, whatever it is called, etc) on your way to the plane that will take you home. Hey, at least you have a home to go to (it appears you do) and what kind of student are you, anyways, considering how many spelling errors you have brought forth (Is that a valid sentence?) I almost bet is something with some advanced science, where language skills are not top priority! Don't despair! If you are already paid for the month you have 3 days at least in which to take your leave and no one can detain you, not even that nice landlord you speak of!

Hello from Texas !( I'm not Chris either- I'm the wife) Anyways...Calm down... your going to be fine ! You don't have to move because of what happened. Crime is everywhere my dear. I have lived in the ghetto parts of town and now in the yuppie (rich) parts and I have been targeted / ripped off countless times in both places and I'm a 5'3 female.
You are not anyone special that "they" (which it was probaly some crack addict or punk teen that broke in) They just knew when you wasn't there and gotcha! Sorry, I don't meen to make such light case of your situation- it is just not as un-common as you think and moving is not the answer because those punks live on every corner and if they don't the garbage man will tell them which house to hit. I'm just saying to calm down and give it some time to get over the shock and fear you dealing with. You might want to also trade ol Sparky your pet for a pitbull, too. Mean pets help out a lot. If your scared for yourself purchase you a mace or pepper spray to carry for a while. You'll be okay! If you just can't stand it then just move! Those apartment people are full of bullcrap. They can't do nothing and believe me they know they can't suck blood from cotton. The most that would happen if you couldn't use them for a reference. Whoopie do. It sounds like they might be the ones that may of ripped you off! Hey, I'd change the locks without telling them- if they notice- then it probaly was them.

Read your lease carefully. There should be something in it that describes the criteria for breaking a lease, and what conditions would result in a penalty. And, if it was drawn up correctly, there should be something in it about police matters. Look through the fine print, and take that, a copy of the police report, and a magistrate to talk to your landlord.
Edit: Barbara - I agree!
2nd Edit: If nothing else, ask your landlord to either change your lock, or give you permission to change it.

Do you have homeowner's insurance or renter's insurance? You should, and if you fear for your life, perhaps you should look into purchasing a bottle of mace or if you are a stable person a firearm isn't a bad idea, legally of course. Talk to the police and let them know that you feel like you are being watched. Set up some cameras and trip wire your lights to turn on if someone tries to enter the house. Set up a home alarms system.

Check your lease there is probably an out. I know sometimes if you buy a home you can get out of your lease early, but may have to pay a negotiable amount. Also have you thought of putting up cameras in your apt? At least if they come back you can show the tape to the police and maybe they can catch them.

Move out and let the apartment complex take you to court.. Then you can explain to the judge that your life was threatened or you are fearful for your life. He'll probably throw it out and the apartmet complex will have to pay a whole lotta court fees- if they even take you to court in the first place.

Legal Aid is a group of lawyers who help people with very little to no money. Call them and ask what your rights are in a case like this.
They will be able to advise so long as you live in USA.
