hey, what is the word for "pubs" in french?

Many french use the same word (pub) nowadays .The true french name is Bistrot (pronounced beestro)

Pubs are different in France. The closest to a pub would be called "un cafe" (with accent on the e). Otherwise a pub would be called "un pub".

"bar" or "Le Bar"...I Think! A "Pub" is an English word, a diminutive of "Public House"
