First of all you have to WANT it bad enough. You're body isn't letting you down YOU'RE letting your body down. You need to set a goal date. Something real, not 10 lbs. by next week. Like 10 Lbs. by next month on this date. Then you go and you do it. Sounds to me like you need more self control. Put a sticker up in your mirror have it say I CAN DO IT I WILL DO IT I AM DOING IT. Read it everyday!!! Put one in your closet I AM NOT CONTENT I AM CHANGING IT. If you're a snacker put notes on the cupboards I do not NEED this! Put one on the frige WATER ONLY. If you're hungry drink water. Exercise EVERYDAY. No less thann 30 minutes hard work out. . .if you're not sweating your waisting your time. NO SUGAR!!! This means pop! Even if it's diet! NO POP. If you can pick something up and picture it on your butt, don't eat it. If you can pick it up and picture it helping your heart then eat it. The only person that can change the number on the scale is YOU! OH and the Scale thing. . . only weigh once a week. After you weight put it away somewhere where you can't see it. Eat breakfast lunch and dinner with small healthy snack in between. NO breads pastas or potatos until you get into the swing of things. Stay away from peas too ( everyone thinks their veggies their not their sugar.) I'm talking like carrots sugar free puddings peanut butter and celery. and don't eat anything after 7 p.m. If you find yourself sitting on the couch doing nothing, think about what you COULD be doing.

The easiest ways to loose fat are not always the healthiest.

You can loose 10 pounds within a period of a day or two, but weight loss doesn't always equate to fat loss.

Your body can loose water from cellular tissues, and with that water antioxidants and other essential minerals you need, especially when performing exercise.

For this reason we should stay away from liquid fad diets if permanent fat loss is a goal.

A sound, well balanced diet and vigourous physical activity performed 5 times a week for 30 - 60 minutes at moderate exercise intensisty is sufficent.

You can do strictly cardio or cardio combined with weight training. In either case make sure to get a physical from a doctor before you begin any exercise program.

During the intial first few weeks don't push it too hard, those who are excessively obese should take it easy for the first few months.

Pick activities that are low impact on your joints, longevity and exercise are part of a healthy equation that should last ones lifetime.

Choose activities you enjoy and will not stagnate doing.

Activities like swimming, water aerobics, cyclng, brisk walking, basketball and other sports that are continuous for peroids over 20 minutes in duration should be chosen.

Swimming and water aerobics inparticular places your body in a cooler environment. This maximizes your bodies need to burn calories from fat to maintain a stable internal temperature.

Fat loss happens at lower exercise intensity. This is crucial to understand.

Wheras walking for an hour burns fat, running fast for 10 minute burns glycogen from your muscles. The associated weight loss isn't from fat in the latter case but from a depleation of water molecules that bond to the glycogen in your body.

Some things you can implement into your dietary stategy are:

Eat a complex carbohydrate like brown rice, yams, beans, whole wheats and hour before exercising. This helps your body utilize fat for exercise.

Also make sure to consume enough vitamin c. This antioxidant has been shown to help fat loss.

Dairy products have also repeatedly been shown effective for aiding fat loss. Don't skip on the fat free milk, cheese in moderation and yougurt's that are preferrably low in sugar.

If you are having problems sticking to your exercise regimine i suggest you identify what is stopping you. Wheather it's the amount of time per week, the exercises your performing, you attitudes towards fitness. There are a multitude of aspects psychologically that can stop exercise program adherance.

Try finding a motivating personal trainer. If you cannot afford a trainer look for a workout partner.Gym bulletin boards are good for this.Make yourself short term goals.Goals that are bi-weekly or monthly. Like lossing 4 pounds a month for the next 7 or 8 months.Reward yourself when you reach your goals.

In some cases seeing a psychologist to help you identify your problem is a great solution. Most certified personal trainers should also have experience in behavorial psychology and be equally effective at helping you be adherant.

I have to agree with the other woman who suggested Weight Watchers. I have used it on and off for years to keep myself in shape. At 41, I am the best shape I have ever been and eating real food will keep you on track. I must confess though that exercise will really speed everything up. I hate the gym, but I love the results - start slow and never give up. Good luck. Patience and persistence will get you through it. One other thing to remember - one night of bad eating will not erase all the good you have done - so don't get discouraged.

Weight watchers worked for me. By having a group meeting to attend once a week and bieng weighed, it made me motivated. Furthermore, as soon as I started seeing results(in 1 week) it made me even more motivatd. Plus, i paid for it! It's not too expensive, and it's very flexible.

The reason weight watchers works and not ther things like Jenny Craig, is because weight watchers teaches a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. You eat proper portiens of all food groups, in whatever way you like, and then you have flexibility to treat yourself once in a while. You don't feel restricted.

I lost 40lbs doing this and feel wonderful. Good luck!

Swimming is always a good one. Try going for half an hr in your lunch break or straight after work - do not go home first cuz you won't be bothered to go back out.
