Caffeine x 1000? 10mg Demerol? Morphine? Diet pills x 100? Help me understand what my addicted friends are feeling.

I understand the emotional side of addiction and the need people have to feel a certain way for whatever reason.

I want to know strictly about the high.

Not caffeine. Not painkillers. Its a feeling of slight well being followed by a lack of boredom. Even very trivial things can seem somewhat entertaining. The effects are physical and mental. Your brain feels good and so does your body. But the high wears off after awhile ( depending on the person) and then you start to feel crappy so you take more. The high is not intense. It does keep you awake if you want to be, but you can also sleep if you want to.

euphoria

clarity, many many thoughts working at once and concluding, not necessarily right...

it is something hard to explain...

there is a book by Crowley "Diary of a drug fiend" that was written while the person was coked out... good insight into the mind on coke. (may have been Freud)

don't try it to really find out... one little 'taste' is all it takes to become addicted... really.
