i am trying to figure out the same exact thing right now! its really hard. You have to realize that the relationship is *really* over. Everything is in the past. You cant recreate all those past moments. People are changing all the time. Try to keep yourself busy, get into a new activity. Give yourself time to heal before you jump into another relationship unless you are ready.

Time will take away the pain, but you will still have the memory of all the good times you had together. It's not easy to get over someone you loved. You need to occupy yourself so perhaps you are distracted from thinking about him so much. You may still love him, but I guess things did not work out. We often love things we can't have, I am afraid that's part of life and part of a lot of relationships. You may meet someone new and fall head over heels, that will take your mind off your past love.

Simply look at the relationship you had with the person. Did he respect you? Did he treat you the way you want to be treated and deserve? Did he cheat on you? Just by waying the pros and cons of the relationship will help you alot. I feel a problem most people have is that they settle for mediocracy. They settle for someone or something that deep down they know isn't right for them. You can't change someone! That's something they need to do on they're own. Just remember "it is what it is." The best thing and not the easiest is just giving it time. After a while you will think less and less about him. Try spending more time with friends or hobbies. Keeping yourself busy will keep your mind off of him. And while keeping yourself busy you never know who you might meet. You just might meet your dream man. Never focus on a relationship that you are not getting the same amout of love back that you are giving.

well it wont be easy but try to remember that everything happens for a reason. even if you love him, maybe it wasn't meant to be and there's someone better for you out there waiting to meet you. if you stay hung up on this guy, you won't be making yourself available to meet someone new. and who knows what the future brings - maybe the timing was just off and you two would run into each other again someday and realize that you were meant to be. just keep smiling, it all works out the way it's supposed to.
