it may not be cancer at all, on the other hand if you dont go and get it checked and it turns out it was cancer all along and its spread etc you're then in big trouble. you are worrying over the unknown and the fear of finding out. how pleasant the feeling will be if you go and get checked for these reasons
answer 1: madam, its not cancer
answer 2: madam, its cancer, but small and we can sort it
these are the only two possible answers at the moment, put your mind at rest and go and get it checked just to be sure

If you have found a lump in your breast that was not there before then you need to see your doctor. A mammogram, biopsy of the lump, and your doctor are the only sure way to tell if it is cancer or not...
SEE YOUR DOCTOR

Most likely the painful lump you feel is a cyst, but you cannot always count on that. So, go to the doctor get a mammogram and Ultrasound and you will know for sure.

Please see your doctor!!! I too had a lump 3 years ago that hurt and I saw my doctor who thought it was probably just breast changes... It wasn't...I underwent a partial mastectomy chemo and radiation. The whole process of waiting for the lab results, additional tests, surgery, anxiety about how my body would react to chemo and radiation weren't fun, but the alternate would be that I wouldn't be alive today to share my story with you.
My sister in law is a mammogram technician and she told me she thinks of me everytime a woman comes to her and said I have felt this lump for several months but I was afraid to get it checked out....too often it is too late... Early detection and treatment is your best option.

Please do get it checked out by your doctor - the majority of breast lumps are not malignant (could be a cyst or inflammation, or you could have naturally nodular breasts, or have you been breastfeeding?)......you might need a mammogram if you are over 40, and in any case an ultrasound might be good.

All lumps should be checked by a doctor. Some are benign and others are malignant. If you stop drinking coffee and other caffeine drinks for awhile, it may go away.

if it's cancer and it was recently found, there's a good chance it could be taken care of...if however you refuse to go to the doctor out of fear that he'll say it's cancer, you could be putting your health at further risk. don't be afraid...go to your doctor as soon as possible and think possitive...there are serious advancements in cancer treatment! hope this helps!

Don't risk it not being breast cancer. GO GET IT CHECKED OUT! (the sooner you get checked out and *if it is cancer* the sooner you can start treatment, the better your chances of survival)

Replace terrified with concerned and please get this checked out. Bring a friend with you to the lab if that helps your anxiety. Chances are it's nothing, but PLEASE let a radiologist be the one to tell you that. If it is in fact a tumor you may be saving your own life by catching it early.
