Doesn't God have the power to do anything he wants? Can't He make a person without having it be his son? Just because jesus had no natural father, it does not mean he is the son

God doesn't exist.

Neither did Jesus.

Denying the facts does not change the facts.

I'm not sure about the spirit behind what you are asking but the truth is the truth. Jesus was much more than a prophet, He is the Son of the living God. There's no getting around that.

Of all the prophets that have lived, they have all died. Jesus arose from the grave. He beat the grave. There were 500+ eye witnesses to this.

My dear, you can deny what-ever you'd like to deny but Jesus is the truth and as he told us in the book of John, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

I encourage you to read the four gospels of the New Testament. Starting with the book of John. John the apostle knew Jesus, ate, breathed the same air, was a witness to many, many of his miracles, signs and wonders. John was actually in Jesus' inner circle of friends. Matthew another apostle wrote the first book of the New Testament. Matthew also knew Jesus personally.

The New Testament of the Holy Bible is the only accurate and authority on the birth, life, ministry and death of Jesus of Nazareth.

I encourage you to read about Him.

Peace be with you.

Sure God can - it's called a daughter! ;-)

Okay, serious now... Jesus could most certainly be known as a prophet and not the son of God; in fact, he is respected by many as a prophet.

Also, "son" can be, theologically, misleading. Jesus is God Himself incarnate. But how can we understand God being two (actually three, don't forget the Holy Spirit!) and yet still one? We do what we can within our limitted human understanding to make sense of this mystery.

So could God make a person without it being the child of God? Sure. But that isn't what Christians believe.

Your missing the point of God sending His one and only Son. The point of God sending Jesus is that He wanted you to know how much He really loves us. That He would not spare His own offspring in heaven for you and I. That's why Jesus could not be just some meer prophet. Now you have something to measure God's love by. If you find the idea of sacrificing your own son for a stranger, than it will give you an idea of how greater the love God has for us. God was willing to sacrifice His only begotten for people who hated Him. What effect would the message be if God just sent some guy telling everybody God loves you. How would you know that? Unless, God sent His best, which was His Son and then validated it through His salvation and the giving of His Holy Spirit. You have to understand, God does not work in shabbiness. If He does something, He gives His best.

Jesus was the Son of Man, His fleshly father was Joseph. Son of man also refers to Adam, son of God.
It was the catholic church that raised him into an untouchable Diety. The Historic Jesus was a man made of flesh.
The difference between Jesus, and the prophets of the past, was that He is the Founder of what later became know as christianity. Seeing Jesus did not take up His earthly, material Throne in the first century, this church is as of yet - headless. Think of it as a virtual church, which is not bound to any certain location on earth. (Or - Gods "church" in the "wilderness".)
I don't think it is wrong for people of other cultures to consider Jesus a prophet, for indeed, He was a Prophet. At least they aknowledge Him.

Except the Bible says that Jesus is God's son
forexample: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but will have everlasting life."
So Jesus isn't a prophet he is the son of God.

Jesus is both the son and a prophet of God.

If Jesus was just a prophet, he could not have risen from the dead, and there would be no eternal life for those of us who chose to accept His death as payment for our sin. He sent Jesus into the world because He was the perfect lamb of God, His son- a prophet isn't perfect.

Jesus is not a Prophet.

There are 3 types of Prophets

1. One who talks to God.

2. One who brings and receives messages from God

3. One who interprets God's words.

Jesus was the Living Word of God. The Word of God made flesh. Jesus was the true bread from heaven.
The Word of God was cast down to the earth, and dwelt among us.

First there was Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Then came the Prophets, Moses, Elijah, Elisah, Isaiah, etc...

Because if he was just a prophet, he wouldn't have healed people, raised the dead, fed 500, etc, etc.

Prophets are JUST HUMAN. Jesus was God and Man. The Son of God.
