I love him, I think he is an awesome Man of God...I read several books he has, and I watch him on t.v. This guy I know told me not to follow his teachings because he is a fake leader or something like that he said. He said that about Creflo Dollar, and Bishop Bell aswell.
I do read the bible myself, but I think Jakes is a great teacher, I am learning a lot and so is my boyfriend. I'm thinking about becoming a member of his church here in my state.

I love Bishop Jakes. Your right he is a awesome Man of God. Don't let know one change your mind ,But GOD. People can say what ever they want about him( Bishop Jakes) but I think he is a God fearing Man. Check the quality of Life that the person who say that they don't like him lives. If there life is not in line with God, then they can't tell you anything about Bishop Jakes, Pastor Dollar or any other Great Man of God.
So, I would like to say to you keep reading your Bible (you and your boyfriend) ,stay encourage, and don't let people turn you away from a Good word. May God bless you and Keep you

If they ever harness the power of sweat that man could be worth a fortune.... I hear a good presentation of a well prepared and oft-repeated script... but I have serious doubts concerning his motivation... I dis-trust most of the "TV" "evangelists"... whether they be black and fat or white and skinny... ever listen to that Olstene, or Ostien, however it's spelled... the skinny white dude... just as shallow... lot of fire but the heat just ain't there when you stop and listen with out the emotion.
Find yourself a good Bible teaching Church with a small congregation... like 100 or so... and really get with individuals who are studying... avoid any with a dominering single leader... God is The Leader... And Christ is The Head of The Church... Not any man.

I think if you learn under T.D. Jakes then you should consider his church. I attended Creflo Dollar's church and grew a lot spiritually when I lived in Atlanta.

T.D. Jakes is indeed an awesome man of the Lord. I also have read many of his books and appreciated some of his teachings. People now a days rise up and say negative things about all religion. Follow your heart and take not the counsel of the ungodly.

I think Jakes and Dollar both have some good things to say. I believe they mean well... and I've even heard Jakes in person once... however, having taken theology coursework, I know that some of what he says is REALLY off-base, Biblically-speaking. He has strong points that ring true, and weak points... but so does everyone else, to some degree.
