If they aren't horribly discolored and growing mold, and they don't smell bad, I would eat them. I don't think they would be likely to hurt you. You could consider cooking them into a meal to be safer, that would kill anything that could be on them bacteria-wise.

Shrimp is one of thoughs things you dont want to eat after they expire. They dont last too long if they weren't frozen or anything. Its not worth taking the chance to eat them, if you really want shrimp spend the money and go get new ones vs puking or worse for a few hours or more.

With your added info I would say as long as they arent older that a day or so after thawing you should be good.

That depends, are they frozen, canned, or what? If they weren't preserved in any way then I wouldn't take the chance. Shellfish in particular can make you very ill if they start to go bad. If they're canned or frozen it's probably still safe since bacteria won't grow any faster in two days under those conditions.

You're taking chances on getting some serious stomach ache. It's always best to avoid foods, especially seafood, that have expired. I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, but I think it's just common sense.

not necessarily, odor is usually a good indicator of whether seafood has gone bad or not, so smell it first before you toss it. also, make sure the date on the package is indeed an expiration date and not a sell by date, if it's a sell by date, chances are, its still good.

Generally, food is good for a few days after the expiration date so you should be fine.

Doesn't sound like a very good idea especially if they are not still frozen.

It's probably fine, but I wouldn't. If they were unopened and in the freezer though, that might be alright.
