it sucks and i want it to go away before spring break which starts on friday. why do i have such a bad cold.

Because you have been exposed to a particularly bad cold virus, this is why medications don't really work when you have a cold, because there is nothing to kill, so you just have to let it run its course. The good news is, that you wont ever get that particular cold again, because after you get a cold your body becomes immune to it. The reason why you get so many colds through out your life is because there are so many individual cold viruses out there. Hope you feel better soon:)

Drink a lot of fluids, hot tea, hot chocolate. Have showers, have the water as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself. Sleep under 3 blankets and a heavy comforter. Have 3 meals a day, soup and sandwich for lunch and dinner if you like soup. Get flu and cold tablets from the drug store and take them as often as it says on the bottle.
You must of got the cold from someone at your school or work place.
