Prayer is nothing more then begging an invisible man to do things they don't want to or think they can't do themself.
Does it do any good? NOPE!
It is the lazy approach to life! Pray it will get better. Don't do anything just pray. Oh yea that will bring in lots of success. Just look at Donald Trump I'm sure prayer is what he used to make all his money. Yea RIGHT! Nice fantasy!

when you pray, you're in communion with the Almighty God...Jesus Christ because He died gave us the ability to go into the presence of God through Him. Do you not know that there are mysteries that have not yet been exposed to the kingdom? This will come through time with God, in prayer. I'm talking about the prayers that's continuous. Praying without ceasing. You obviously don't know the power of prayer, because you do not know God...why are you concerned about things of God and don't even want to accept God Himself. You're an accident waiting to happen if you don't pray. That means you have allowed yourself to be out there floating in the enemies territory. Which is Satan himself. God is our protector, oh okay never mind this stuff is too deep for Yahoo Answers. I'm tired of talking to people who don't even want to know God. Where are the meat and bread eaters of the Word?

People pray for many reasons and because of that there are many different kinds of prayers.
There are prayers that give thanks.
There are prayers that ask for things.
There are prayers that give praise.
Prayers that ask for things do not instantaneously make the deity alter its course of action. They are simply entreatying the deity to act propitiously towards the person, the deity may choose to turn its head or kindly act but that is up to the deity being prayed to.
You can ask your boss for a raise, however the boss will measure your workmanship, reliability, and dedicatedness to the job to see if you are worth the raise. After doing so, the boss makes the decision.

I pray for many reasons, but not because I want God to act differently. I pray to meditate on different situations in my life, so that I can compare them to the ways that my religion says that I should live. I feel that the answers to my prayers, if they are reasonable, exist in my life already, and that I should be able to find them myself. Prayer is also a way that I relieve stress that comes from a trying time in my life. It is comforting to believe in an almighty god, and prayer strengthens my belief in Him.

No, I pray asking God for His help in changing the way I act. I pray to thank God for my life and the beauty He created for us to live in. I pray for the people I love and for those I don't know who may need it.
I would not presume to know the mind of God, much less try to change it.

No. It is about changing youself. You pray for God's will...and learn to accept that, because it aint gonna change...
I pray to "god" I don't really know what it is, I guess I just pray...it calms me...I don't pray for selfish things...I pray for others, and what I can do to help others and change myself.

Deists never pray to ask for things. They only pray to THANK God for things.
