mmmmm moist and tender beef ribs take a while to cook, but they're worth the wait

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Place meat in large baking dish in about one inch of water

Bake at 250 degrees for one hour - remove from oven - turn meat. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour - remove from oven. Drain and add barbeque sauce as needed - increase heat to 400 degrees. Bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.

A section of beef ribs can be slow-cooked the same as you would pork ribs. Pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees. At this point don't wrap the ribs in foil but do put them in a shallow pan (low sides) and let the heat work on your rub and the bones. I am guessing the piece weighs about 3 lbs. I would let them cook for the better part of three hours then cover them with aluminum foil and let the steam work. If your seasonings appear to have faded or washed off after about a half hour swab with a a good brand of sauce or one of your own making and cook for another half hour. Sauce only at the end of your cooking time. Make sure the foil is tucked under the ribs and not the edge of the pan. You will have a helluva cleanup in that oven.

Remember: low and slow for tender ribs and roasts.

You can pre-cook your ribs either by boiling, steaming or slow cooking them in the oven before you put them on the grill. Make sure you pre-season your ribs before using these methods as this will help bring out the flavor in your ribs. Many people boil or steam their ribs with beer which not only adds flavor but also tenderizes the meat making it fall off the bone. You can pre-cook your ribs from anywhere from 1 to 4 hours depending on which method you are using. Meats continue to cook after being removed from heat, let rest covered for 1-2 minutes in a warm spot. Avoid frequent prodding of the meat while cooking. bake at
250 degrees for 3 and a half hours in a foil covered baking dish.

I saw Alton Brown make ribs on The Food Network. He made it look so easy and the ribs looked so good. Here's the recipe....
