Hickory is a kind of tree, and wood. "Dickory" or "dickery" is a meaningless, made-up (invented) word.

It's just a rhyming word and doesn't have a specific meaning. It is used in a children's nursery rhyme 'Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock'.
Hope I was helpful :)

in the nursery rhyme hickory dicory dock, mimics the sound of a clock, tick-tock, but so that it rhymes..
hickory if used on it's own is a type of wood
pendulums on clocks are not made of wood as stated above but normally of brass as they need to be extremly heavy
spero aiutarsi... ciao

its just mimicking the sound a clock makes, sometimes we make up works to rhyme with things. it rhymes with clock, hence the nonsensical words. English is the hardest language to make rhymes with, unlike spanish and itallian and many other languages. so oft times rhymes are just made up words.

it's just poetic onomatopeia, and a pun (gioco di parole) on "hickory", which is the type of wood from which pendulum clocks, to which this nursery rhyme refers, were made.
