Possible that they had fried up and eaten all the locusts which is why it ended having to be renamed. Rather nice theory though.

There's no such known 'Locust' Sutra, but a common one known as 'Lotus Sutra'. It wasn't written by the Buddha but his disciples some 500 years later (and the Mahayana Lotus Sutra came later as a work of Buddhist scholars, not exactly the exact ones from recorded in the Pali canon).

The Buddha never write anything.His teachings were recorded mentally by Ananda and many other monks.About 500 years after His Mahaparinibbana,His Teachings were recorded in stone carving known asThe Pali canon.
There is no such sutta as the locust sutta.Mahayana Buddhism has a sutta known as The Lotus sutta.

You need to learn about things before you post a question. The Buddha was an Indian prince. They have some kind of locusts in every part of the world. Thing one comman thing is when they swarm they kill all plant life in that area. The Kama suttra was written in India

They probably do have locust in China; but Buddha was from India, not China. They probably have them, too.

It's loTUS. Oh, and Gautama Buddha was from India. And they probably did have locusts in China back then too.
