We will be having a guitar soloist perform the ceremony and most of the reception, however, once he is dismissed, we are going to be playing CDs. I want to make a compilation of different music versus playing CDs straight through. Any suggestions for fast or slow songs?
Absolutely NO Chicken Dance, Mony Mony, Love Shack, Hokey Pokey, etc. etc.

Try to find out what song the parents first danced to, that would be nice to include in your list. And some old songs the seniors would enjoy. I'm playing "Ma, He's Making Eyes At Me" and "Side By Side" for grandparents. And some Irish tunes and Italian tunes and some polkas. Think about who will be at reception, and include things they would enjoy, too, not just the bride and grooms favorites

My problem is I have so many picked out there won't be time to play them all, so I need to weed.

I would say go through you fav cds and pick songs you both can agree to. You might also want to check out some wedding compilation cds at your local music store. There are usually some pretty good ones for special dances like to father-daughter and mother-son thing.

Go to Limewire.com and start listening to all kinds of music. There you can pick songs you like and can even burn them to a cd if you have a burner.

Just make sure you pick a good list of fast and slow songs. Maybe some jazz? That's always nice. ^_^
