I do all i can to avoid it....i could PREACH on the many ways to fight it.....but it gets at me....like a vicious rabid pit bull it attacks me and tears me up.....I can be on fire with the Word all week, but the slightest hint of that lustful spirit working in me will knock me to the pavement.....HELP A BROTHER OUT!!!!

thanks for the answers so far....those who have said they will pray, I trust you will..... those who have chosen to kick a brother in the head while he's holding his chest....so be it.... The Great Lord will bring me through this, and His Word will inspire my obedience... I know an attack versus a mis-step and this is surely an attack. Those who have blessed me with a Word, thanks, and I do know those verses already...it's just crazy, like, I know the Word, I even minister to others the SAME words, but to apply it at times is a SERIOUS challenge.... love you all in Jesus' name...

What type of lust are we talking about here?

If it is sexual lust, I can say I have had the same aversion, and have been finding it easier to alleviate by falling in LOVE with people's faces, rather than their bodies. ;-)

first of all- I commend you for admitting to everyone who reads this of your weakness with lust- it takes a man who desires to follow God who has the courage to ask brothers and sisters to pray and help. I am not here to judge you- I am here to let you know that I will hold you up in prayer. Also I will say one thing that I hope helps- not one of us are free from temptation- just remember that God has made a way for your escape- keep praying, keep reading the word and find another person who you can be held accountable with and God will heal you- just asking for help is a step in the right direction. GOd bless you!!

This is something you need to pray about. You need to confess to Him that this is a struggle and ask for forgiveness, patience, inspiration and fortitude.

Re-read the passages related to lust and temptation and think about them. You'll find that lust will never fill you up. Lust is a cruel trick, because usually once you've obeyed your lust, you'll find yourself in a position of regret, dissatisfaction and sin. You already know there is no such thing as 'win-win' when it comes to lust. Remember that.

I guess I never really understood how deep "this" runs 4 u. I hope all of these prayers and pleas to god 4 ur "deliverance" help u get through the suffering u r going through. while u depend heavily on ur god 2 help u, I hope u don't 4get those of us here on earth that are just as willing and eager 2 help u 2. I sincerely hope u find the "light" ur looking for in ur life and i wish u nothing but the best in the future.

Ask and you shall receive.

Make no vows (oaths) unto the Father, who is in heaven.
But be ready to receive the answer to your prayer, God may cause you to go blind, infect your eye if the lust that you have is an affliction of the sight.

If it is sex, God may take the urge, or prevent you from having sex.
If you lust after material things (stealing) and you ask God for help, he may cause you to have a stroke. Or it is money, he may take all that you own.

If these things can not help you God may cause you to be put in prison, and you will not come out until, your utmost desires have been quenched.

Be careful what you pray for.

But if you, truly want to do the will of your Father, who is in heaven, then go into your closet and after you have closed the door, pray to your Father, in the name of Jesus, and ask for forgiveness. Pray to the Father from your heart, and ask Him to take the burden of Lust from you, and the name of Jesus Christ. Believe in Jesus Christ and it shall be done for you. Thank Father, for what he has done for you, and praise him, for his good works.

Ask Jesus to take away that sinful lust in your mind and believe that he will and it will happen. I used to have a problem myself where I couldn't enjoy sex unless I had sinful thoughts in my mind. I'm married so I wanted to enjoy my husband without thinking about other people. I prayed and prayed about it and since then I have enjoyed my marriage bed a whole lot more! Good luck with your problem and I will pray for you too.

keep trying to win small victories. He has done the same thing to me. Just keep trying and don't get down about your self. The more victories the easier it gets. You have to learn how to be REAL stubborn. Keep busy ,an idle hand and mind is truly the devils workshop. ps I think something big has happpened in your life, or soon will. Don't give up.

I hope this helps, and I hope you are sincere:
For me, being brutally honest with myself, and my repentance is an honor to God. God will honor a true confession, with a repentant heart. (right, he knows our heart) I know I can't do it myself, and, probably, neither can you.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."
Just that verse alone, has REALLY helped me. It was like the word FINALLY jumped off the page, like "finally" whatever your real name is, you know I'm here to help. Confess, repent, and trust that God will be there to help. Not saying he'll always do it immediately all for people. I've seen it though, people who miraculously had their 'vice' immediately removed. It can happen, but I think just realizing you can't do it alone, but, finally, go to God, he'll help you with it.

You have to fight fire with fire. You are under attack by the enemy, big time. You also have to remember that greater is He that is in you (God) than he that is in the world (satan). Do you pray alot? Do you take every thought captive to Jesus Christ? (When you have perverted thoughts, immediately confess them and ask Jesus to purify you, and if you have to do it 20 times a day, DO IT). Get to church, and if you have to, in a bible study seven days a week.

Listen. We are in the last days and satan is coming against the bretheran harder than he ever has because he knows his time is short. Don't play around with this....take it all to the cross and I mean fast. Drown the things of the darkness with the things of light. I pray that God will protect you and keep you pure, in Jesus' name.

Pray that God will give your strength, he says he will never send a temptation that you cannot withstand, so if you feel you can't get through it remember you can. Pray about it. read the word. I'll pray for you as well.
