my daughter has been sick off and on since January. About every other week she gets a fever about 101.5. Then on top of that she has gotten strep throat and ear achs. She also, 5 weeks ago got a fever of 105. So today she has another fever, her ear was very red and i scheduled a doctors appointment. She was taking a nap and when I woke her up her ear had drained all over the side of her face, wiped it off and took her the drs. The dr told me nothing was wrong with her ear, there was no drainage in it and again told me she had strep throat, she had that 5 weeks ago also. I asked him if something else could be wrong and he told me i was worrying too much and its normal. Is this normal?

Also, I am pretty confident it was ear drainage bc her ear was really red and hot and soon as the stff came out of her ear it wasnt red anymore.

Are you sure it was actually her _ear_ that drained, or could it have been something else?

If she has strep throat, whether or not she has an ear infection, she needs to be on antibiotics. Strep throat will not go away without antibiotics. (Usually ear infections will not go away without antibiotics, either.) And fever is a strong indicator of bacterial infection.

The problem with strep is that it's a bacterium that also lives normally in the body and some people become strep carriers - that is, they just sort of carry it around, it never completely "goes away," even with antibiotics - and they will even occasionally infect others with weaker immune systems that they come in contact with. I am one of these "carriers"; I've had a particular type of psoriasis my entire life that is closely linked to strep throat. As a youth, I came down with strep constantly; when I did, my psoriasis would flare up horribly.

She may also have some kind of sinus infection or another viral infection, as having one illness (like strep) for an extended period of time weakens the immune system and makes it easier for additional opportunistic infections to occur.

you need to go see a specialist about her ears. she could be teething too. if she is at that age. Strep is a very dangerous thing to have. it can cause heart damage after a while. this is not normal and you are not worrying too much. Especially with a fever that high. You really need to get a second opinion.

Give her fresh garlic & garlic pills. Garlic is a natural antibiotic who can kill the most dangerous bacteria including the steptococcus as well as the staphilococcus aureus. Garlic is not a selective antibiotic meaning bacteria can't get resistant while using it. Also try pure lemon juice it is also EXTREMELY antiseptic and will kill most steptoccocus. Ask your daughter to keep that juice in her mouth for a few minutes.

Good luck.

Go to a pediatrician. It sounds to me like your daughter might well have had an ear infection and when the drum ruptured it drained. Don't go back to that original doctor...
