She really isn't a girlfriend if she lives in another state and you met on the Internet. At 15 you need to be careful who you communicate with over the Internet as there are a lot of sick people out there-male and female both!

I would tell your parents about her. You don't have to tell them she is your girlfriend, but be honest with them. They may be more understanding than you give them credit for.

You have an internet friend. Why say 'girlfriend' at all?

There's a girl you met over the internet and you are friends and that's that. It's not like you two are moving in together!

I never talked to my parents about my boyfriends until it was time to bring them home and introduce them to my dad....he's very intimidating....think DeNiro in Meet the Parents...that usually took a long time to prepare them for and still some got chased off. LOL...it's funny now but really sad when you are 15!

You met a girl over the internet and are dating when you haven't even met her? If that's the case, then you should think this through. If you know her beyond the internet, then tell your parents that you've met a nice, respectable girl who loves you for who you are or something that's applicable to her. But be sure not to make a huge deal out of the situation.

Seriously, drop the internet stuff and meet someone around you; someone you can talk to, hold hands with, see them walking and talking. This internet stuff is a fantasy. I know I know I know it feels real, but listen to me, it is NOT. Do yourself a favor and meet someone from where you are. If you can't then there is probably a reason for that and thats why you went to the internet. Plus, you are only 15! Worry about other things, like education and sports.

Sorry to tell you what you don't want to hear.

Why do your parents need to know everything.

And technically, if you've never met her in person, it's not a real girlfriend.

tell them be upfront...

because when you get serious and you end up finding out she is a 45 year old man ...there the only ones who will understand you.
