No one when making their first confession can remember and number them one by one. In the Episcopal Church in the liturgy there is a "general confession that is said together during the mass. Most Episcopal Churches do not have confessionals, but you may request of your priest to make one. If you are heartily sorry for all your misdeeds and intend to "go forth and sin no more" that is sufficient. In your personal and private confession to God you can enumerate what you remember and ask forgiveness in your prayers.

You must confess all of your mortal sins. You must tell the sin and the number of times you committed it. Venial sins, however, are not required to be confessed individually. It is good practice to confess venial sins though, because it makes you mindful of where sin is in your life, so that you can try to avoid those sins in the future. If you purposely do not mention a mortal sin you will not be forgiven of that sin. Sometimes we may forget to mention a sin, but that is no intentional so that sin can still be forgiven.
God bless,
Stanbo

You have to confess ALL the sins you commited that you KNOW you comitted. If you deliberately omitted something that means you aren't really sorry that you did it and therefore cannot be forgiven of that sin. It doesn't mean you have to go to confession and say "I stole Jane's purse" "I stole Jane's keys that were in her purse" "I stole Jane's phone which was in her purse" etc. You just confess that you are guilty of stealing. The priest probably doesn't want to hear every tidbit of every sin you committed he's just there to help with absolution.

If you have never accepted Christ for the forgiveness of your sin- admitting that you are sinner is what you need to do and accept Christ as the payment for your sin- it would impossible to name every sin, if we had to do that and we missed one then we would not be saved. If you are a believer already you should continually ask God to reveal to you what is not pleasing to Him and confess your sin and He will be faithful to forgive you. But let us say, that if you committed a sin, and you are a follower of Christ and you would happen to die before you confessed it you would still be in heaven- you know why because Christ died for past, present and future sins.

I think I would be hard pressed, every day, to remember every single thought I had that would qualify as sin. It has been my experience that God's spirit convicts me of sin pretty quickly, and I ask forgiveness when it's right in front of my face like that. That is not to say I may miss some! The blood of Jesus Christ from Calvary washes us clean, past, present and future. You do not have to be in fear that you forgot something. God loves you and you are forgiven through His son, if you believe on Him.

Admission of sin is purely the 1st component of it. requesting Jehovah God's forgiveness by way of his SON Jesus is while sin has been forgiven and forgotten perpetually on no account to be stated lower back. No human can forgive ones sins no longer a clergyman, pope, mary, or any of the saints. purely Jehovah has that capability and purely while asked by way of his SON Jesus. Matthew 6: 9-15 interior the form payer that Jesus left he mentioned pray purely to His Father and make an apology purely from our Heavenly Father. no longer the pope or one hundred Hail Marys.

As a trained Theologian, I believe that I am perhaps the most qualified person to answer this important question.
(I am kind of a 'big deal')
Yes, you must confess every sin. If you die, and simply forgot to confess a sin - Let's say, for example, you spilled jelly on your Prada Shoes and it left a stain and you said, "**EXPLETIVE!!**"
Well, if you died that night and forgot to confess it to God or ask forgiveness well, then, you AND your prada shoes are going straight to Hell to be tormented forever in flames and stinky sulfur and poked with demonic pitchforks - until you are eventually annihilated in the Lake of Fire.
You gotta get 'em all, Missy. God does not count slackness, as some men do. This is why people with alzheimer's, (According to Christian faith) go to Hell to be burned alive.
God does not tolerate sin. Not even little teeny ones. You have to stay on top of them!!!
Or of course, you'll burn in Hell forever, because of God's great mercy and love in giving you free will to choose slavery to God, or to be your own self, with your own thoughts (which God hates, BTW)
So do not think your own thoughts about this, rather listen to the Man of God (Me), read nothing but the Bible and only watch TBN - and you should be fine...
UNLESS!!!! You have already blasphemed against the Holy Ghost - which will NOT be forgiven! If you've done that, you may as well go ahead and enjoy sin.
Cause, you got it.... You're gonna burn in Hell forever.

Yes, because Jesus gave this power to his apostles, in confession Jesus is the one who absolves you from your sins, you should not be afraid to let him into your soul, all sins that are remembered should be confessed, the priest will help you.
Jesus wants to give a great joy to you.

Those sins you remember, yes, you confess to God. If you feel you have sins lurking in your past you don't remember, ask God to forgive them, too.
But, the cool thing is -- God forgives and forgets. Once we are forgiven, we need not repeat.
And when you get down to pray, you don't have to struggle, and stress over it. I mean, when I asked God to forgive me, I didn't go down a list of all my sins, being afraid I'd forget one. I asked Him for forgiveness for the life I led, and I accepted His forgiveness.
If a certain situation from my past keeps surfacing in my mind, and I feel remorse, I pray more about that.
But, after you ask for and accept forgiveness, then you must turn away from that past life, and do your utmost best not to repeat it. That is what the word "repent" means. To turn away from the former life.
It doesn't work if you ask for forgiveness with the full intention of going back out there and doing it again. You must turn away from it, and do your best not to do it again.
And bottom line: YOU MUST FORGIVE YOURSELF. God forgives, but the hardest part is forgiving ourselves. That's where "grace" comes in. Being forgiven when we don't deserve it. But, if you have a hard time with that, go to Him in prayer.
