My friend lead me to believe he liked me, on my birthday, dispite not actually liking me. He left me in suspence for three weeks until I brought up the subject, and he though he apologised I am still feeling quite negatively towards him. Is there anything, more satasfying than just being really nice to him, that I can do to make him feel quilty? We are in the same friendship group so I have to be around him all the time. Also, I know I'm being childish.

Don't let on it was/is a big deal to you. The feeling will pass..your last sentence, "I know I'm being childish" is the key. Don't do anything silly because when the feeling passes you'll just feel like you acted childish. You are wrong that you, "have to be around him all the time"..you don't. Find something new with a new group to give yourself an emotional breather if you need it. I don't think being exceptionally nice will make him feel guilty...just make him think you want to change his mind or something. Just be ambivalent about him..he's part of the group, but he's not a special part of it to you..he's an aquaintance...treat him as such.

I think you are mistaken by calling him a friend, true friends would not go out of there way to mislead, and hurt you in anyway. It was a mean trick what he pulled on you on your birthday. He is someone you should avoid, and never call a friend again. To answer your question you are not being childish you are seeing what he truly is.

He sounds really childish. Why would he pretend to like you for the day? That's weird. I don't think he'll feel guilty about it really. I would ignore him instead of being super nice. He's not worth your time.

If you are satisfied with being nice to him to make him feel guilty then keep doing it. He probably thinks you have forgiven him and everything is OK. Though if it's working why are you asking us. If it's not working just ignore him give him the cold shoulder treatment.

I don't think your being childish, but i would suggest just forgetting about it. I would be pretty pissed off to myself.
