Good question. I think its our relationship with Christ. They don't and can't understand it. They think it's foolishness.

I do not dislike Christians as a rule. However, there tends to be in many cases a hard-core condescending attitude toward anyone who is not. It's like, even when a religious Christian is being nice, there's an underlying attitude of "oh, you poor thing, sad you'll be spending eternity in hell because you think gays should have civil rights".
Maybe your "truth" is different than another person's. Who (other than God or whatever you choose to say) can say which group, if any, is right?

Many not all tend to be hypocrites, judgmental, and interfering in the lives of others. Not all Christians are like that, I'm not like that, I accept everyone. My pastor was telling us this same thing and that sadly it is true most of the time. I really don't consider myself a christian though since I'm open to anything that might or might not exist but i do go to church.

I like allot of Christians, what I don't like is the fact that their belief system encourages them to proselytize me because they think I am headed for hell. It doesn't arm them with facts or evidence though, so I am consistently being bombarded with emotional pleas and crazy talk.
Why wouldn't God give Christians something better than a heart felt story to save people with? Just don't get it.
It is irritating being asked to rejoin a belief that has no basis in reality.

Even some evangelists are now talking about taking a more loving attitude toward gays and people "living in sin."
1- Anti-gay sentiment
2 - Opposition to teaching evolutionary science
3 - Support for the war in Iraq
4 - Too much emphasis on Hell
5 - Too much emphasis on the Bible and not enough on historical traditions of interpretation.
6 - Too much emphasis on sexual morality and not enough on economic and political morality

I can almost do this by heart (I am a Christian)
Christians (hence referred to as THEY) are always in our face preaching at US (atheists)
THEY are always damning US to hell (we do not believe in it but THEY should not do it anyway)
THEY are always trying to run OUR country (note...its not THEIRS)
THEY are unintelligent
THEY believe in fairy tales
THEY pray for US
THEY put down science
THEY....it goes on forever
We as Christians are nearly always called "THEYS"...we are not individuals, we do not have names and we all believe exactly the same way. Not saying that WE do not do too much of the same to THEM...but that is not what you asked.

They think they're the only religion in the world that matters. They think their beliefs are more sane and rational than greek gods (when they are not). They answer everything with "the bible says so" and rarely think for themselves.
I do not dislike christians in general. But some of them do not do well representing their faith.

The spreading of lies and outright demand that others not only support their bigotry but they demand participation. And it's not so much that I dislike Christians as they dislike everyone else.

I'm curious about this, too. You know, there are many religions that I don't agree with, but you don't see me spewing hate and antagonism toward them.
Personally(as I earlier stated to someone who was spewing hate), I believe their souls are conflicted. If they truly believed that Christianity had no validity, they wouldn't care about what Christians believe or why they believe it.

Trying to pass laws to make everybody live by the rules of their religion.
Persecution and discrimination of other religions.
Having double standards. Revelation can be a metaphor, but Genesis can't, for example.
Faith healing. Frauds. All of them. You want to prove you can heal someone, show me something I can SEE.
Insisting that we all have to abide by a certain verse but they ignore the one next to it.
