It depends on what you want to drive on/over. For the mud you would need something with big tires and alot of power, like a full size truck. For rock crawling you want something shorter and lighter like a jeep or certain SUV'S, The type of terrain really dictates your vehicle. Personally i think the best all-around off roader stock would be a jeep, they are solidly made and last a long time.

You need to be a little more specific.

I'm a jeep guy and I love my cj, yj, and M38A1, but If i had to go through the worst offroad situations I'd take my yamaha big bear atv. The atv will go places in mud, rock, woods that the jeeps would have a time with.

I'll take my old 87 Suzuki Samurai over my YJ all day long. I took the sammy thru hell and back.....then dad wrecked it!

Don't get my wrong I love my Jeep, but stock vs stock, both with BFG AT. The Zuk was better. Been thru the same hills in Calico with both 4x4s and the Zuk performed better.

Now.....bring it on haters!!!!!

If you actually need it to off-road, probably a Toyota or Izuzu. Anything made by Land Rover will get you there, but may not get you back, if you see what I mean!

There is absolutely no doubt that a bricked camel is vastly superior and much safer than anything else. It has great endurance and when the locals see you coming they think you are one of them and won't take you hostage.
