You make a good point it does seem that in general(not always!!) some christians lack basic logic and reasoning skills... many times I see questions or answers by people describing themselves as christians and there is absolutely no logic or reason behind the path to their conclusions... its like they skip the part where people usually question things and apply logic to come to a rational conclusion. I am not saying all hristians are like that because I know that is untrue.. but many, many christians are like that and trying to have a logical debate with a christian generally gets you nowhere, in fact many logical arguments posted on here never even get so much as a rational reply from most christians.. its all just scripture, personal attacks, ad hominem arguments and poor circular reasoning based on faulty premises. Few have logic to match someone who excercised such logic to conclude that religion was created by mankind.. I think that christians are not christians because they lack logic but rather that religion encourages the stagnation of logic and rational questioning of the world around us.. I think it stems from the fact that they believe god is the answer to every question.. and that becomes their only logic.

Geez, that's rude. Just because they are SOME illogical Christians out there, doesn't mean they ALL are - looks like your logic could use a little work too. Be careful about casting the first stone, dude.
And personally, I like Monterey Jack. And probably no one reads your details because your headings are so inflammatory and appalling - really, if you start out being aggressive, what do you expect the responses to be?

I think the Christians you are referring to are mainly these so-called fundamentalist evangelicals who refer to everything as "literal" and who can't conceive of a God created universe wherein the almighty created a process of biological evolution. They also seem to have some odd belief that if one doesn't accept their interpretation of the book of Genesis that somehow one will be called to the carpet for it at Judgment Day.
These people are lacking in the capacity for logical thought. However, I think that most Christians have the same capacity for logic as anyone else.

Christians are Christians (the real ones - some are fakers - the ones that are trying to be a Christian by their own efforts) because God opened up their "inside" or spiritual eyes to see Him and realize that He exists. To be a Christian one must be 'born again' like Jesus said so that His Spirit can live through them and their brains. Most non-believers are blind either by choice or circumstance.
It's quite ill logical to not believe God exists and Jesus wasn't who He claimed to be.

There is the study of Science and the study of Spirituality. To study either one of these without the other is immature at best. I'm a scientist and an engineer and later became a Christian when I studied religions and was convinced logically of the truth in the Bible. To ignore religion is illogical.

I don't think that Christians lack logic or intelligence at all or that it is simply fear of consequences . . . people have different Truths. I am a pharmacy student, child of molecular biologist and a Christian; one person can wear many hats.
