Absolutely not ! The wave length of the blue-violet laser in the Blu-ray is shorter than that of the DVD red laser, so it's not possible.

No, but you can play DVD on Blu-rays

No because the laser beam frequency is not the same for Blue Ray discs.

no. it sucks. tho now they're making players that play regular dvds as well as BluRay and HD-DVD. if you got one of those you'd be pretty safe but if i'm not mistaken they're expensive compared to a regular dvd player.

they hold more but they're more delicate as well.
