You do not need to boil the potatoes before you cook them, but broiling them would be too risky as they would burn very easily. Here is a recipe for Oven-Baked Potato Chips:

Thinly sliced potatoes
Salt, seasoned salt, or Cajun seasoning + salt
No-stick spray

Preheat oven to 350*F
Wash and thinly slice the potatoes
Fill a baking sheet with one layer of potatoes
Spray the potatoes with no-stick spray
Lightly season the potatoes with desired seasoning
Turn all potatoes and repeat the spraying and seasoning
Bake for 15 minutes
Turn over and bake until done
They won’t all be done at the same time so remove as done

heres how i made mine:
preheat to highest setting (below broil)
boil potato for about 10 min (easier to cut)
cut in thin strips
cover in pam or veg oil.
cook til crisp

u can also do sweet potatoes and Cinnamon for a sweet chip :)

They won't be as crispy as deep fried chips, but they will be MUCH healthier:

Slice the potatoes super thin and rub both sides with oil;
Broil until done to your preference;
Turn.

i never did. i made them one winter about two years ago and they are awesome but so time consuming. i baked them on 250 for about 2 hours. they were crispy. i also sprayed them with pam cooking spray.
