My son was behind on everything, so don't feel that you're kid is stupid if he's not as advanced as other kids. My son was 18 mos old before he walked, he's still learning to talk and now we've started potty-training. He'll be 3 at the end of June. I was forced to put my son in speech therapy b/c his daycare teacher felt that he should be saying 500 words by now, but I think that's a ridiculous amount of words for a baby that young. Usually between the ages of 1-2 yrs they really start to open up and say different words. Boys generally take a little longer to learn all that stuff whereas girls exceed well in that category. My daughter was about 10mos when she started saying simple words like, "Baba" for bottle and "Mama" for me! Don't fret and let your son develop naturally. If he gets to be a bit older and still isn't developing the way you feel he should, double-check w/ his pediatrician to make sure his hearing is good and he's on the right path. Usually as long as they're developing in some way, they're happy w/ that even if it's not as fast as other kids.

the age varies for every child. my daughter is 19 months old and she names everything she sees. She also puts 2-3 words together, such as "where is daddy?" etc. she can count to ten, but sometimes she leaves some numbers out, and as for the ABCs she only sings the letters that sound like "ee". if you are concerned about your sons development you should get involved in a program called parents as teachers, where a home vistior comes once a month and gives you ideas on things to do with your child and evaluates them, it is free. just go to www.parentsasteachers.com.

every child is different. just because a child starts later doesn't mean he won't be where he is suppose to be 6 months from now!

my daughter is 2 yrs 4 mo and speaks very well for her age. she will sing the ABC's with you...counts to 6...and can speak in short sentences.

however...my friends son didn't start talking until he was nearly 3....he is now 5 and right where he is suppose to be!

just be sure to TRY and teach him things.....we use flash cards and play memory....and we read a book everynight before bed! it really helps.

My daughter was speaking in full sentances by 1 1/2. She's 3 now and says (not sings) her abcs. We didn't teach her to sing them because they are not allowed to "sing" them in kindergarden where we live. She counts to 10, and passed a little then she gets confused! lol! She also knows quite a few Spanish words. Girls normally develop speech younger than boys. I believe you said you have a boy. Its hard to remember when my son started making complete sentances without looking at his baby book. But I know for sure he was making complete sentances by 2 1/2. I don't think that your son is behind. Just keep working with him.

All children start at different ages. My son is 28 months and can count to 13 and knows his ABC's. Alot depends on how much time is spent working on it.

My sister had her children in daycare and they started talking full sentences when they were very young. My sister and her kids stayed with us for about six moths and my son who was/is three and only saying a few words has made tremendous amounts of improvement in his vocabulary. I find that his language skills pick up move every time he is around other kids. I think they pick up their language skills under n"pear pressure". I'll never send my children to day care though, they also pick up on each others bad habits.

children start at different ages, and different rate of progress, my children started with words like mama, Dada, ball, my 15 year old was older then my first but his first word was Michael, not mike, Michael, very clear, and then boom, he said a lot, my David was about 2 his older brothers said everything for him, but he is 12 and has never been behind quite the opposite, my eldest was speaking in sentences at 19 months, my 2 year old only uses some words like dad , mom, mike, steste, kitty, no, but i am not worried, kids do things at there own pace, and they catch up, don't worry, it will happen, and then boom,

not until 2 or even 3! depending on his age, you might want to get a book called "what to expect the first year" its a great book. or go to www.parenting.com and you can get a lot of info from there. i dont think he is behind-he will just start to talk one day, then getting them to hush is the hard part.

Try the following directry...they do swimming gear for bigger ladies however it is usually fine for pregnant ladies because it presents help and dosn't make you appear frumpy. My recommendation might be to appear on the internet as there are lots of webpages in the market that focus on maternity put on that honestly appears exceptional!
