I assume you mean "besides Jesus being crusified"
No atrocities are pretty much an Old Testiment thing.
How about Christians being fed to Lions and Paul being imprisoned for his belief.

Here goes:
"And if any one's name was not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Sounds atrocious to me. To send anyone to hell is appalling.
Would you burn a fellow human being? No!
It is not acceptable or moral behavior.
Why then should we accept a God who does this type of thing as "good" or "holy"?
Now, I am an atheist, but have a certain respect for other's faiths, and believe also that they can do some good in the world - but a lake of fire, that's one step too far, and a poor sense of justice and humanity to communicate to our husbands, wives, children, and fellow women and men.
What do we atheists do with religious types? Do we try and justify some kind of torture? Not at all.
Therefore in some respects we hold the high moral ground.

Good point Primoa, I forgot about that one.
I was going to say no, because the Romans had a pretty tight hold on the Jews and Christians at that stage in history. But I forgot about the Thou Shalt Tithe or die story.

The non-Christians were very cruel to the Christians. They were boiled in oil. Beaten and left to die. Stoned and crucified. The atrocities were done to Christians.
