The male & female chicken were here first. Then came the eggs and omelets and soon after the fried chicken followed.

It depends on what point of view you have. If you believe in creationism, then chances are you think the chicken came first because god created it. Otherwise, I have no idea. I guess I'll say the egg, just because.
