If it's a small baby, repeated vomiting and/or dehydration can be dangerous in a short space of time.
If your friend is with you, tell her to phone the doctor now to get advice about what to do.
If you're minding the baby, get in touch with her mother immediately and tell her what's happening.
Babies need more than sugar water, they're losing salts also, which need to be replaced with a special hydrating solution.

Firstly, call the baby's mother right away, she needs to know what is going on.

I am presuming this sickness has just started very recently and is being caused by a stomach upset? If so you need to keep the baby hydrated, the best way would be to offer water immediately after they are sick that way there is more chance of the water being absorbed into the babies system before the next bout of sickness. Its also advisable to avoid dairy products as this can agrivate the stomach. If the baby is under 3 months old it would be very advisable to take him/her to the Dr asap as very young infants can become dehydrated very quickly and can become seriously ill. If the child is older than this but still under a year it would still be advisable to see a Dr as soon as possible.

If the sickness is being caused by reflux, then there are medications that you can get that can help, but these should only be prescribed after being assessed by a Dr.

I hope the baby is ok.

it could be any number of things but being sick so often isnt a good sign. anything the baby has take in like milk or baby food will just be coming back up again. a trip to the emergency doctors or hospital is needed. they are usually very good with getting babies seen as they can go downhill very quickly

Sugar water won't do any good. The baby's doctor needs to be called. If the baby needs fluids pedialyte is what you give them. If the baby has gotten dehydrated he will need an IV to get his electrolytes back in balance to stop the vomiting.

My little girl started being sick at 15 months, the doctors kept putting it off as teething. Eventually, when she started to lose weight, and became thin, we demanded to see a Paediatrician. She is now 18 months old, and was diagnosed this week as Coeliac disease. Get her to the doctors, and dont EVER give up.

If its been going on more than 24 hrs call a dr, poor kid may be dehydrated and need a drip!
Just either use water Pre boiled! or breast feed no cows milk!
If the child is hungry try anything dry like rusk or rich tea biscuit! or toast. but nothing with cows milk!

Get you friend to take baby to the docs asap. It could be a bug that's going round or it could be a reaction to something she is feeding him. But she needs to get him to the doctors asap, especially if this has been going on for a while.

Have your friend take the child to the doctor, it could be a stomach virus, meanwhile make sure the baby is hydrated.
