I am only speaking for Dish Network. We had them for almost two yrs and never had any problems. We bought an HDTV and wanted to upgrade to an HD package. I called 4 different times and was quoted 3 different prices. All were saying that it would cost us over $300.00 to upgrade!!!! We were going to switch to Direct TV because for the same package it would have cost $100.00. But the local cable offered a better deal. When we went to cancel our service Dish said that we still had 6 months left in our contract. We DID NOT sign a contract. I told them I would look for my papers and I wanted them to send me a copy of said agreement. They said it would take 3 to 4 MONTHS!!! Well then our contract would be up. Anyway we did end up finding our paperwork and proved we did not sign a contract. They still billed us the cancelation fee. It was a mess that lasted 4 months. Look them up on Better Buisness Bureau they have a bunch of customer service complaints.

Hi,

I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:

- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.net - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
Mike
