Most of them will not answer my questions and simply accuse me of being hateful.

more like, don't answer truthfully because they have to be indoctrinated and feel like they have something to loose before finding out the incredible inconsistencies between the full belief and reality.

I would be more than willing to answer honestly any questions you might have.
Do you think you would understand algebra without first knowing how to add or subtract?

Isaiah 28:10
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

2 Nephi 28:30
For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.

We are not taught "deep" doctrine when we are young or early in the church for one reason - because we are not prepared to receive it. The more we learn, the more we understand and will understand. That is why children or new converts to the church don't go to the temple, partly because they would not be spiritually prepared to know what was going on..
We are never instructed NOT to share the gospel, we are always instructed to do so whenever we can. BUT, I like to go by that old saying "don't cast your pearls before swine."

We are not "instructed" to do anything about controversial questions. You are merely attempting to see if there is some sort of conspiracy or something, I am thinking.

To people like you, our milk is sour, our meat rancid, and you haven't even tasted it. It's prejudism in it's purest form, bordering on bigotry.

So, yes, I did answer your question. The church does not tell us one way or the other how to answer questions like yours. We are perfectly free to tell you whatever we want. It's just that, like the verse I posted on another question, we don't like throwing our pearls before swine.

addendum: Wow, I did this post then read everyone else's answers. Talk about great minds thinking alike!

No we are not instructed in any sort. Maybe missionaries are who knows, I am sure that they are told not to answer controversial questions.

Of course we would not bother to answer you, why should we take you serious, and explain lies that you made up. When you are sincere to be taught, then may be we will teach you a few things.
