From the beginning, it seems that the Bible shines a bad light on sexuality (garden scene). Is this why they lash out at those with differing sexual preferences, those who express their sexuality openly, and even at those who encourage sexuality (film industry, publishers, novelty shops, etc.)?

I'm NOT saying that the bible says there was homosexuality in Eden. I'm saying that when they ate the fruit, they covered their 'parts'....implying that those are 'bad parts'.

The Bible never shines a bad light on sexuality. Sex was not the original sin, and it was introduced to Adam and Eve before they sinned. They were told to "be fruitful and become many and fill the Earth and subdue it." That would require S-E-X!!
It is gross sexual acts and the obsession with such that is incorrect. God designed sex to be pleasureable and the ultimate expression of intimacy between man and wife. The apostle Paul even talked about "rendering the marriage due" in one of his letters, basically telling married people that witholding sex was unfair to each other and unloving.
I enjoy sex with my husband- I will freely admit that :) But we are careful to stay away from any sexual acts or promotions, such as pornography, that encourage selfish sexual pleasure. We always try to keep each other above ourselves in all aspects of our relationship, sex included.
I'm not ashamed of my sexuality- I just keep it between me and my husband, where it belongs.
*Though a few neighbors have probably, um, become aware of it too!*

I don't believe that the Bible casts any kind of negative light on the sexuality between a married man and women. In fact it is referred to as a blessing and gift from God. Those types of sexuality that you are referring to are perversions of God's intentions. There are spiritual and moral reasons why sex before marriage, homosexuality, pornography and other forms of sexuality except in the marriage of a man and women are bad. My question is what good comes from it, except personal satisfaction? Any arguement for it are overshadowed by the arguements against it.

Christian are not afraid of their sexuality. An act of intimacy between a man and wife is a wonderful thing. It is giving of one's self for the other's pleasure that makes it special. Plus it leads to another act of love, creating a special gift of love from God, known as a baby.
The only reason Christianity does not approve of homosexual acts is because the people involved care only about their self-pleasure not the other person's. It is a act of greed, not sacrifice.

While I cannot speak for all Christians, since we are after all individuals, I am in no way ashamed of the fact that I was blessed with the ability to procreate. Does this mean I violate the Bible's laws and participate in Sex outside of the Marraige arrangement? No

Christians feel that God created sex and the pleasure derived from it for one man and one woman that are devoted to each other. Song of Solomon tells of this gift, and how it is to be enjoyed...the Bible is pretty clear on sexuality....And yes that is probably why they "lash" out at people who the Bible describes as sexually immoral...

No, we lash out at sin, and those who encourage sexuality IE: film industry etc. are not encouraging sexuality they produce what is called pornography and cause people to become more perverted then they already are and are the major cause of rape and child molesting.

God created sex to be held within the boundaries of marriage. Christians respect this and believe the bible. The industry of pornography not only degrades those who are in it, but it ruins lives and families. Of course Christians aren't ashamed of what God has called good. A Christian merely wants to follow the ways God has provided for sexual expression....which is in marriage, one man and one woman.

No, sexuality is a great gift from God and something even sacred meant to bond a man and woman for life in a covenant similar to the covenant of Jesus with the Church.

Your christian chum is feeling remorseful about, the subsequent step in his repentance procedure is to assert sorry and abandon the sin. Making him sense extra valuable about his sinful nature is counter to God operating in him, to regulate his existence. Lead him to the subsequent step in repentance, ok. at the same time as he has fairly became from the sin, the God will convey the peace he needs and seeks. by technique of ways, i'm a Mormon.. i believe in Christ and His teachings of repentance and forgiveness. The Savior stated, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy weighted down, and that i will provide you relax" (Matthew 11:28).

Not at all.
Christians believe sex is a gift from God, to be enjoyed only in the bonds of marrage.
Listen to Joshua Harris's sermons on Purity, you can find them on line if you are interested.
