Most people will think that it is a heel spur but more than likely it is plantar fasciitis:

If you jog or run or even walk on hard ground (concrete) without shoes that can absorb the impact, you can inflame the tissue band connecting the heel bone to the base of the toes. This would cause the sharp pain you describe under your heel. What you need for this is rest, and it should go away on its own. But invest in a good pair of running shoes if you often run, or even batter, try to make sure you run on earth or sand, rather than on roads or concrete paths.

I spent many years working in Orthopaedics & I'll lay money on it being a spur. The description you give rules out for me other conditions such as plantar fasciitis. The sharp pain you describe is classic of a spur. A quick referral from your GP will get it sorted - it's not a major problem but not likely to resolve on its own. Hope you soon get over it.

It depends if you're chubby, because you put all the weight down on the heel because that's where you first step down. Pr you might just have a piece of glass or something in there, if you do you may want to get it out fast because that can give you an infection. You should see a doctor if it starts to hurt more.

It sounds like you have a spur on your heel. It`s a small piece of bone that has chipped away from your heel bone. Go see your doctor.

You could have a spur.
Here is a good explanation of what can cause the pain:
