There was a lot of bickering and arguing in the "motorsport" section whether nascar or F1 racing is better. Yahoo finally made subsections and seperated them. It's much better now.

Should Yahoo do the same with the religious section and create several subcategories such as christian, muslim, atheists, etc., etc.???

Yes b/c there are a lot of stupid questions like "don't you know you are ignorant and going to burn in hell" and the posting is so fast. It makes it nearly impossible to find a question if you actually want to know something about a religion. I would love to questions by Wiccans curious about aspects of their practice to not have to go through 18 answers of "wiccan is devil worshipping" and "magik makes you burn in hell" just to find out that it is better to use the red candle for that spell from one person who actually knows what they are talking about.

I have several questions I'd love to know from muslims but you can't seem to find them between all the atheist bashing that goes on in here.

No, certainly no subcategories like "Christian" or "atheist" if that is meant as "Christians only" or "atheists only" because the main activity in this section is the debate between the people with very different concepts. However there could be different sections to seperate questions that really seek for knowledge on specific religions and the questions that are mainly meant for debate. There could be for example something like a section "Christians vs. atheists". It would not be wrong either to make sections for specific religions, but that wouldn't mean that people of other or no faith wouldn't use these sections, it would only mean that questions in such a section would concentrate on that specific religion and people could go to such a subsection if they are interested in that religion, if they believe in it or not.

People, when they wanted to talk about Christianity (or whatever else), would still go to that subsection regardless of their own beliefs.

And they'd have every right to.

So, no. I don't see a reason for that.

Nevermind that then there'd still be all the denominations wanting their own subsections. Ever see Catholics and Protestants go at each other? Mormons? JW's? Baptists?

Nevermind that there are a myriad of religions and denominations within those. The list of subsections would be longer than the list of main sections on the home page.

Yes they should seperate out sections so people can choose a bit more easily to follow the questions about certain topics. It would probably eliminate a bit of the infighting that goes on in the battles over God/No God, Evolution/Creation and allow the rest of us who have other spiritual beliefs to discuss them elsewhere.

The topic sections should be similar to the ones they had on the Religion & Beliefs chat rooms.

No... it's ridiculous... While I'm atheist and Buddhist I actually HAVE studied other religions in significant depth and detail, therefore I'm qualified to answer quite a few questions in other religions, and how are others who are curious supposed to learn. The only thing that I think should change is the arrogant hatred and bigotry. Maybe THAT should have it's own category.

No. It takes away from the experience of being in a real-world type situation. What I mean is, is that there's no sheltered ivory tower for religion now. It's not going to help people to be seperated because they're not really seperated in real life.

Besides, there will still be people who go into a section just to antagonize people.

Heck definite that'd be solid. the bigger issue, i imagine, does no longer be that human beings whinge about the guy content textile, yet that it may change right into a personals/sex web site promoting/solicitation/etc. i understand that there are some solid inquiries to be requested about individual content textile, yet being as it really is the web, for sure some human beings will commence to abuse it. could could be heavily changed, extra so than the established form of questions.

Yes. While I think open conversation is good, sometimes I would just like to discuss topics with like-minded people. I'm not always interesed or in the mood for sarcasm, rudeness, and the occult. I think it would nice to have the option to respond to others who truely want an intelligent answer.

The way it is now is like tying to cats' tails together and throwing them over a clothesline. But I think R&S would be much less interesting and entertaining if it was a bunch of like-minded people getting together to express how much they agree on everything.

I'm gonna go with no.

But if they did, they should set aside a forum for people who just ask sarcastic questions to just get a rise out of others. Sometimes they are ok. And other times, just plain rude and obnoxious.
