My son is 2- and I am pregnant, So, I'm trying to decide If I should get a double stroller, or Just have him walk. Any ideas oradvice from someone's personal experience with a 3 year old and newborn would be great.

He does- for many reasons.
1. Its easier to maintain both kids at the same time when they are both strapped into a seat.
2. His little legs get tired and he is too heavy to carry and push a stroller at the same time
3. When he does walk, he second seat is a place to put jackets, shopping items etc...
4. If he needs to take a nap you have a place for him regardless.

As for what stroller is the best, I love the double Maclaren that I bought at a consignment shop- it has the best ability to turn with the different weights of the kids.

If he doesn't do a lot of stroller time right now, I wouldn't get the double.

Actually, what you should do is try to find one either in a garage sale, or see if a friend whose kids have outgrown it has one you could borrow. You wouldn't need it for long enough to justify paying much money for it, but it could be useful for certain occasions.

My older son was 21 months when the second was born, and even then, the only VERY rarely used the double stroller. It just took more patience for me to wait for the older child to keep up.

Get the double stroller. You'll be so glad you did when your 3 year old is tired from a long walk, or window shopping in the mall, or whatever. Otherwise, you will either be carrying your 3 year old and pushing your newborn, or dealing with a whining and tired 3 year old while trying to keep your newborn happy.

I used a double stroller when I had a 3-year old and new baby. The older one will feel less 'displaced' if there is a special place for him/her to ride with their little sibling. I had 7 kids and never had a problem with the sibling rivalry thing when the babies came along. While you want to praise and encourage the older baby when he/she wants to be "big", you also need to provide him with opportunities to feel "babied" when he needs to retreat.
Your new baby will make the three year old look so huge to you--- but remember, three is actually still a baby too.
Also, you will be hauling around twice the paraphernalia you used to have to haul with you--- So even if he chooses to walk, you can use the space for carrying things.
I found double strollers to be extremely useful for malls, parks, walks, etc.
If its not too late, try to get your kids used to a "seat belt" or cloth harness thing while riding in the stroller. Your hands are going to be so much busier now, and your attention divided between two-- So many kids get hurt climbing out of their strollers (same for shopping carts)--- both by falling and also by running off while you are busy with the new baby.
Best of luck to you! I'd do it all over again, if I could--- despite all the work and worry. Enjoy every minute of them--- Lucky you!!!

We have a double jogger, because our first two children were only 2 years apart! Now we have a 11mo old and the other two are 5 and 7 and they both still hop in the stroller when they get tired on walks or at Dollywood or the Zoo!

A double jogger can hold 100 lbs (two 50 lb children)

My daughter uses a stroller only when we go on trips or to the zoo where there is alot of walking. She is petite so she fits in an umbrella stroller. Otherwise she walks most of the time.

I have a 3 year old and I still put him in his stroller. If we are out running around he'll even take his nap in his stroller. I think it would be easier to have him strapped in, especially if you are pre-occupied with the baby. 3-year-olds like to run. I would definitely get a double stroller.

hi...double strollers are nice, but expensive. you might want to look into a used one though. because it is hard to justify spending almost $200 on one for about a year and a half's worth of use. been there with my boys...now mine sits in a shed and if I don't get rid of it..off it goes to goodwill...don't forget too...they take up a lot of room in the trunk of a car...sometimes they don't even fit...so watch for that if you get one. but overall it came in handy especially if I was by myself..hard to chase a 3 yr old down and drag a stroller at the same time...it is amazing how fast little kids can go on their short legs...lol so it kept my son corralled until he listened better and didn't run ahead of me.

Shes never had one and has executed fantastic without one. definite, that's slightly to overdue for that. overlook about it now. purchase her some thing else like a sparkling toy or a bike or some thing sensible that she will use for a at the same time as and receives her concepts off it. the lady is 3, she would not comprehend that she would not opt for one. it truly is for toddlers. Get her some thing else and do not waste you money.
